Hi I'm Shawn

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a woman far better than me and we have three young children. They are full of energy and can always make me smile after a hard day. I am a medical doctor and love what I do despite the enormous debt involved. I love sports and anything outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it brings me closer to my Savior Jesus Christ. I know that He suffered and died to pay for my sins and then was resurrected on the third day to pave the way for the resurrection of all mankind. I know that He leads this church and will also lead me personally if I am faithful the His commandments. In a world full of confusion, I am thankful that He has called a prophet to lead us just as He did in biblical times. I know that He wants me to be happy and that the only way to achieve true happiness in this life is to become more like Him. I am grateful for the knowledge that families can be sealed together forever and not just for this life.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite ways to participate in the church is through service. I believe that the best way to serve our Savior is by serving those around us. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints encourages and provides countless opportunities to serve those around me not only in my ward (congregation) but also in the community. I was the recipient of such service when I recently moved to the Denver area and immediately had several men at my house to help me unpack my moving truck. They were from the ward that I was moving into and had taken time out of thier busy day with no thought of compensation. Just last month I accompanied that some of the teenagers in my ward to a soup kitchen to help pass out food to homeless people. Watching those young men and women selflessly giving there time was a reminder to me of the way that Jesus served the downtrodden when He was here on Earth.
