Hi I'm Willie

I love the outdoors. I'm a CPA, husband, and father. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

I love doing activities outside. Whether its cycling, hiking, rock climbing, playing tennis or having a picnic with my family, I love it. I've been married for seven years, and we have three crazy, but amazing, kids. I also love being with my family and introducing my kids to new experiences such as camping, rock climbing, or baseball games. I love teaching them new things and watching them learn. I'm also a CPA, so achieving that work/life balance is tough. So I treasure every minute I spend with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, so I feel like I was surrounded by great influences throughout my life. However, it wasn't until I was preparing to serve full-time mission for the Church that I began to develop and understand my own beliefs, rather than relying on my parents and friends. I remember reading the Book of Mormon for the first time, and also the amazing feeling I had while reading it. I began to sincerely pray that I might understand God's plan for me, and also to find out for myself whether the Church was true. Through study and prayer, I received a confirmation and know that the Book of Mormon is true. I also know that God has called a living prophet to teach us today, just as he did in the times of the Bible. I know that the family is sacred, and that we can help each other throughout our lives. Since that time I've continued to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ because I know that by keeping his commandments, we can return to live with our Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to keep God's commandments, and being an example to those around me. I also have the chance to work with Young Men within the Church. From planning activities, chaperoning dances, and participating in the Boy Scouts of America, I get the chance to help young men achieve their potential and become the leaders of tomorrow. I hope by living my life with honesty, integrity and a smile on my face that I can help uplift other sons and daughters of our Father in Heaven.

Mormons believe Jesus Christ is their Savior. Why do we need a Savior?

We need a Savior because throughout this life we commit sins; however we need to be clean from our sins to live with God again. Jesus served as a proxy, or Savior, for each one of us, and suffered for our Sins through the Atonement, which enables us to repent of our sins in order to become clean once again. Through that repentance process, we can confess and forsake our sins and become whole in the eyes of God. The fact that Jesus would be willing to suffer for me gives me such gratitude, that its hard to describe. I am so thankful for the chance to repent and become clean, because without that, we would be forced to live in our sins without the opportunity to live with God again. Show more Show less
