Hi I'm Kevin

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I'm a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy and served in the active duty Air Force for four years. I'm a father of three and love spending time with my kids. I love sports and being outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I grew up in the church, my family wasn't always fully active in church. As a young man, I started to really search for the truth when I was preparing to go to college. Since my parents were both graduates of BYU, I had a natural inclination to go there myself. However, the Lord had different plans for me. As I prayed about my future and where I should go to school, the answer clearly came that I should go to the Air Force Academy. Frankly, I was a little confused with that answer at first - a Mormon kid that prayed about going to BYU and the answer was no?! It didn't make a lot of sense at the time, but now it makes all the sense in the world. Once I got to the Academy, I was fully consumed. Being a cadet, playing Division 1 baseball and football, and trying to keep up academically were all that I could handle. Through various experiences and friends that I made, I was driven to really think hard about whether or not I should serve a full time (2-year) mission. Long story short - I prayed about that and got my answer. After serving for two-years as a full time Mormon missionary in Moscow, Russia, my life has never been the same. My service in the mission field and the time that I spent serving my country as an officer in the US Air Force have been a blessing that I never could have imagined as an 18 year old kid trying to decide where to go to college.

How I live my faith

First and foremost, I strive to live my faith by being totally faithful and devoted to my wife and three children. I work everyday to provide everything they need from a good father and husband. Though I'm not perfect, this is my top priority. Additionally, I have served in many different capacities in the church. Currently, I am the president of the organization for men age 18 to approximately 45 called the Elders Quorum. I organize gospel lessons to be taught on Sundays, and try to serve them in any way that I can. I also serve as a home teacher. That means that I visit a few families monthly to fellowship and teach them gospel principles. In the past, I have also served in the organization of young men aged 12-18 as a mentor and teacher. I've even spent a crazy year as the Scoutmaster of our Boy Sout troop - what an adventure that was! The Air Force Core Values are: Integrity First, Service Before Self, Excellence in All We Do. I try to live that mantra in my life at home, at work, and in my church service.
