Hi I'm Darla

I'm a Mormon. I have lived in Colorado for 29 years and have raised a wonderful family here. I'm a cancer survivor.

About Me

I'm a wife of 27 years and a mother to 3 wonderful children. I enjoy the beauty of the outdoors through camping, boating and hiking. I've taken up photography as a hobby and I enjoy taking pictures of nature - especially flowers. I truly enjoy traveling and have had the opportunity to travel to Canada, Jamaica, Portugal, Australia, Greece, Croatia, Italy and Costa Rica. It's such a comfort to know that the church is the same no matter where you go. I look forward to some day serving a mission in a foreign country with my wonderful husband. I currently work with my husband in our family owned insurance agency.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a Mormon all my life and wouldn't trade it for anything. The beliefs and standards that we live by are a wonderful guideline to happiness in this life. Family means everything to me and our religion helps us to build strong, loving relationships within our immediate and extended families. It's also comforting to know that our families can be together forever. I have grown up knowing that "kindness begins with me" -- that I can make this world a little bit better by doing small acts of service for those around me - sometimes even a mere smile can make all the difference in a person's life. I am truly grateful for the knowlege that I have that Christ lives and he loves me and is always there for me -- if I just come to him through prayer. What a comfort this is to me in my life. I know that I am a daughter of God.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith daily and hope that I am a good example to those around me. I currently work with the wonderful women of our church helping them to build relationships of love and kindness within the walls of their own homes and in the communities in which they live. I enjoy volunteering for the American Cancer Society and a local community action center. I also love the youth and helping them to realize their potential in life - and helping them understand that they can do and be whatever they put their mind too.
