Hi I'm Tina Hancock

I love family time, football games, and mint chocolate chip ice cream, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a zoo, this is true, lions, tigers, and bears oh my. My family had a petting zoo in Ogden Utah. Growing up was an adventure to say the least, there were always chores to be done and fun to be had. My parents taught me the value of hard work and taught me how unconditional love changes things. I will be forever grateful for their unwavering faith and example. I love what I do as a stay at home mom. I love late night talks with my teenagers. I love cheering them on at sporting events. I love date night with my best friend. I love a great sale and bargain shopping. I love to craft and I love to garden. I love flowers of every kind, they make me smile. I love to be outside and I love a challenge. I love being a wife and mom there is nothing I would rather be. I kiss better than I cook, my husband will agree. I don't read directions which gets me into trouble more often than not. I love sports of every kind, but I must say football season is my favorite. I love my missionary. I live by the motto that chocolate never faileth. I love good friends. I believe in having a party of anykind once a week. There is nothing like a springtime Easter egg hunt or a Christmas celebration. I love TEXAS BBQ and chips and salsa. Spending time with my family brings me true joy. I love to study the scriptures it is how I receive answers to my prayers. I love history and how it applies to the gosple of Jesus Christ. My testimony of Christ and my family are my most valued possessions.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day saints which I will forever be thankful. I love being a Mormon, it defines who I am. I like everyone in our church had to come to the knowledge of the truth line upon line and precept upon precept. As a young girl I always believed it was true, when I became a teenager I wanted to know it was true, so I like millions of others asked God if all I had been taught and all I was reading ,meaning the Book of Mormon and learning were true. The answer came clear and undeniable to a 16 year olds sincere prayer. I'll never forget the confirming witness from the Holy Ghost that it was true. From that day forward I have added many more experiences that witness to it's truthfulness. The Church of Jesus Christ gives me guidance and direction in my life. It has brought me to my Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. It brings peace and joy to my heart. Through the saving ordinances of the gospel I know that I can be with my family forever. True love stories never have endings, and God through His son Jesus Christ provided us a way for that to be a reality not a fairy tale. I know that no matter what life may throw at us, with all the ups and downs this eternal perspective gets me through. I know that God and Jesus Christ hear and answer our prayers. I know this because the countless times they have heard and answered mine. I know that they know us each individually and that they are in the details of our lives. Prayer changes things, and when we come to know that our loving Heavenly Father is waiting with open arms it changes us. I love the scriptures because they give me guidance and help me come to know Christ. I know the Book of Mormon and the Bible are the word of God and that Christs church has been restored in it's fullness. I know Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God. I know we have a prophet who leads us today just like the prophets of old. I know these things are true, that's why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

Living my faith is from sun up to sun down. When I was a young girl I loved helping my mom out in her garden, I will never forget the most important lesson she taught me out in that garden. On the east side of my moms garden she always planted sunflowers, they were gigantic to a young girl. My mom would always tell me, Tina do you know why I plant sunflowers and then she would proceed to tell me the story. Did you know that sunflowers follow the sun. In the early morning they wake up watching the sun rise, and they follow it all day long, and end up facing west as the sun sets. So of course I would watch those sunflowers everyday and sure enough they woke up and went to bed everyday following the sun. So why is this so important. Because the lesson came when my mom explained to me that she wanted to be just like the sunflowers and follow the SON of GOD from sun up to sun down. This has always been a most powerful lesson in my life that truly we get our strength by following the Son of God. I remember in my teenage years driving out of our drive way looking at those sunflowers and being reminded to follow my Savior that day. After a busy day I would pull back in that same driveway and think how did I do today? Did I follow the Son of God? I find joy in following our Savior Jesus Christ He is the light of the world. My greatest joy is living the gospel with my family each and everyday. Does this mean life is perfect? No, we all have our ups and downs each and everyday, but if we keep our eyes on the Son of God nothing will ever go permanently wrong in our lives. Happiness is found in serving others, I enjoy the blessing I have of first and for most being a wife and mother. I also enjoy working with the youth in our local congregation they always teach me far more than I can teach them. I love being involved with my kids schools and doing all I can to be a friend to all. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ is from sun up to sun down, and that is how I live my faith.
