Hi I'm Helen

I am a wife and a mother of seven children. I am a quilter and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been married to my husband for 38 years. We are the parents of 5 sons and 2 daughters. Of course, raising my children has kept me very busy for many years. As my children got older, I was able to spend a little more time on hobbies and other interests. I love to read, craft, and cook. I have been a quilter for about 24 years. I have made hundreds of quilts. I love to make these quilts for my loved ones and share my talent with all that I can. I feel so blessed to be able to use my mind to put things together and see the projects be completed. I have osteoarthritis. My quilting has been my "therapy" while my joints have deteriated and have had to go through 3 joint replacement surgeries in 5 years. It has enabled me to focus on what I "can" do and not dwell on what I "can't" do. I still feel productive even though I may not be able to do all that I would like to do. I am priviledged to be a temple ordinance worker with my husband. Serving in the temple is one of the greatest blessings I have ever received.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church all of my life. What a privilege! I was raised by wonderful parents who loved the gospel and taught me correct principles. I had a strong testimony even as a young girl and am so grateful for that. I was blessed to be married in the temple to a wonderful man. We have tried our very best to raise our family in the way that our Heavenly Father would want us to. I think one of the greatest blessings of my membership in the church is knowing why I am on this earth today, where I lived before, and where I will be after I leave mortality. I know that we are led by prophets and apostles. They teach us what our Heavenly Father wants us to know in this day and time. We have the scriptures that have been preserved for us today. I have the gift of the Holy Ghost to inspire me in the decisions that I make every day. I know that I am on the earth at this time because that is what my Heavenly Father wants of me. It is a blessing and opportunity to serve in the church in many different ways. To help my brothers and sisters in this service.

How I live my faith

I currently serve as the secretary for the woman's organization in our church. I have served an many capacities as a teacher over the years. I love getting to know the women and helping them whenever I see a need. I love to share my talents with them. Most important, I want to show everyone that I can how happy the gospel makes me.
