Hi I'm Randy

I am a devoted Husband, Father, and Grandfather. I own a contracting company, am a pilot, and outdoorsman.

About Me

I grew up in a good home centered on the Bible and it's teachings. I became a contractor shortly after leaving College. My wife and I have 4 children together and 9 grandchildren. I built swimming pools in Arizona first and met my wonderful wife there, we moved to Denver and for the last 30 or so years I have been building pools in Colorado and the surrounding states. We have lived in the big city (Denver) and up in the mountains and places in between and love our Colorado. I love to hunt with my sons and enjoy deep sea fishing and flying. I joined the Mormon church about 20 years ago and I am active in the Church. I spend a lot of time with my family, we all work together in the business and play together. My greatest joy is to be with my family and I have been blessed that they enjoy my company as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised to love and respect God and his Son. As an adult with children my wife and I had many questions concerning life here on earth as well as in the here after that we were not finding the answers to. My wife was Mormon but had not gone to Church since she was a child and she and I were willing to explore as many Churches as needed to find the answers to our questions. So for several years we looked in vain for the right Church. Then one day my son's scout leader asked me to help with a scouting activity. My son belonged to a Mormon scout troop where he had a good friend who had invited him to join. It did not take long and I became good friends with these fine young men and their leader. I kept wondering why I liked them so well, it just seemed so natural and even though I did not belong to their Church they accepted and befriended my son and I without question. Several months later I decided I wanted to know more about these people and their religion. I talked it over with my wife and we decided to ask the scout leader what we might do to learn more about the Church. At first he thought we were joking, but when he finally figured out we were serious he arranged for Church Missionaries to come and teach us about the Lords Church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. From that moment on I knew that we were doing the right thing. Each time the Missionaries came we would be exposed to the teaching of the restored Gospel. I knew that these two young men who were teaching us were speaking the truth. Then it happened. The Missionaries asked us to pray about the things that we had learned and to ask God with a sincere heart what we should do. I cannot adequately express my feelings that night as I prayed, and for the first time in my life I felt within my heart the answer to my prayer. That was 20 or so years ago. I love the Lord and joining his Church made my life better, and richer and has blessed my family for all Eternity.

How I live my faith

Being a Mormon is a way of life. All members of the Lords Church are really converts, even if you were raised in the Church you must have a testimony of the Lord and his Church and this requires that each of us be converted, or Spiritually convinced. I have found that by living the Lords commandments and following his directions my life has become richer and fuller. I have served in many capacities in Church over the years and I am currently serving the Youth in our Church Seminary program. It is wonderful to start each day with these high school students at 6am each day. They study about our Savior and his work and learn how to apply his teachings in our lives and how to better the lives of those who are our friends and love ones. The Gospel has given me confidence and a clearness of purpose in my personel and business relationships. I read the Book of Mormon (which is a testiment of Christ his Divinity and his work)) almost daily and have found the answers to many vexing questions within these Scriptures. The Book of Mormon has made the rest of my scriptures (Old Testiment, and New Testiment) more clear and understandable to me. In fact the Book of Mormon completely validates and adds to these testaments of our Savior Jesus Christ. The richness of life that I enjoy each day in great part is a result of the things that I have learned and been taught through reading the Book of Mormon. I find myself amazed at the life that I now lead some 20 years after joining the Church, a life in the Lords Church is a life of Loving and serving others and having those who love you serve you as well.
