Hi I'm Marcie

I'm a Mormon. I am a stay at home mom who loves to make our home a beautiful and peaceful refuge for my family to come home to.

About Me

I am happy to be the stay at home mom of four beautiful children, two of whom have returned from missions for our church and are attending college and two who are still at home. I have loved everything that involves making our home a beautiful and peaceful place for my husband and children to come home to. My interests include cooking, gardening, biking, hiking and running outdoors, natural healing, bee keeping, teaching piano lessons, volunteering, and I am currently taking a class to learn the art of graphic design. I am very thankful to my husband, who has worked so hard to provide for our family, allowing me the freedom to be with our children and pursue many interests as well as develop special friendships with people in my church and community.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am thankful for my Savior, and the personal relationship that I have with him. I can go to him with all of my heartaches and challenges and through him, I am strengthened, changed and healed. His atonement is real in my life and gives me the power to change and grow and gives me great hope for the future. There is not a burden or pain that is too great for him to bear. I have witnessed his healing power first hand through the loss of beloved loved ones and pets, and have received the peaceful and calm assurance that I will see them again, and that Christ will turn every thorn in this life into a beautiful rose if I will but turn to him. I love this passage to a poem that I wrote after the loss of a baby: "To each beautiful rose is given a thorn that may prick your skin or leave you clothes torn, but each must remember that for all the pain, the greatest rose you have yet to gain. When Jesus suffered for us on the cross, he arose 3 days later and left the tomb, where roses did bloom." I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, and each time I read it, I feel closer to God and have a greater desire to keep the commandments and love and serve my fellow men. I know that the only way to true happiness in this life is to follow God's plan for my life and to live as he would have me live. I love how the gospel places so much emphasis on families and on living so that we will be truly happy.

How I live my faith

Each day I read the scriptures and ponder and pray. I ask God for his protection and blessings to be upon my family and friends. I also ask for guidance and direction for my life each day. God always answers my prayers, mostly through small and simple means, and I try and recognize his tender mercies and hand in my life each day. I enjoy organizing activities for the women's organization in our church, and ministering to my friends in need. Right now we are organizing a painting project for our community that many people from our church will participate in. I try to look for small ways to brighten people's lives each day, such as watch someone's children, deliver a meal or baked good, give someone's child a ride to school, take someone to lunch, or make a phone call that lets them know I care.
