Hi I'm Jeff

I'm a Motorcyclist, an avid Scouter, a Star Wars fanatic and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a hard working father of 4 great kids. I like to camp, backpack, ride and maintain my motorcycle and play with my kids. I am an avid reader of all genres. I am a fairly good cook (the kids rarely reject what I make) and I've got a great sense of humor. I love to travel and have lived in quite a few states as well as several countries. I've toured Europe extensively and plan to return soon.

Why I am a Mormon

I've lived most of my life as a Christian, having accepted Jesus as my savior when I was 14. I have attended many different churches through the years and had become disillusioned about the many hypocrisies that I found through years. People who would say one thing, then do another. People who would be 'Sunday Christians' and yet ignore the Saviour the rest of the week. Feeling that this was not for me, I focused on my relationship with my Father, rather than focusing on religion. I married my wife, who was LDS, and feeling very strongly that I should support her in her beliefs, and edify her in all things, I began to attend church with her on a weekly basis. I was welcomed with open arms and found a new home. I did some investigating of what LDS doctrine was and having learned of the Gospel being restored, learning of a living Prophet on the earth and the Plan of Salvation... Suddenly it made more sense to me. I found that I was unsure of what I had previously believed... and praying about it, seeking with an earnest heart, I knew then that the LDS church was the true church of the Saviour. It makes infinitely more sense to me that God would not absent himself permanently from His children... that through turbulent times He would have a living Prophet to guide us.

How I live my faith

I am active in Scouting with the BSA troop. I am the committee chair and as such I help plan the logistics for the activities that the boys plan. I make sure that the Scoutmasters/Assistants are taking care of their responsibilities and help plan for fundraisers to raise funds for equipment and summer camp. My wife and I also substitute for Primary teachers when needed.
