Hi I'm Nancy Virginia Jones

I am proud to say that I am Mormon.

About Me

I am currently working on completeing my high school diploma while at the same time I am getting college credit to help me when I go to college. I love to do crafts when I have time and I love going places like the Library and around town doing different things like shopping. I attend The Seattle Institute of Religion learning more and more each day about my faith and what it is that my Father in Heaven would have me do and his plan for his children whom he loves very much. I attend the Temple when I can. I like doing different things on my computer like games and my schoolwork. I am in a wheelchair and I have really had to learn to get around but people say I do pretty well with my chair which I guess is true my favorite thing to in my wheelchair is race cars and busses I can win cars but the busses outrun me.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon after I got married to a guy who was Mormon I at the time was a devout Catholic and like you I heard all kinds of stories about the Mormon Church. I decided to sit down with the Missionaries to hear what they had to say and like any young girl who wouldn't want two very nice handsome men in her house to talk to her I was like yes gentlemen come in as I locked the door discretly behind me and sat down to hear them as I stared at them just thinking wow how gorgeous are you I finally snapped out of it and gave them a run for their money asking many questions and then as time went on I continued to study and pray. There was this feeling that I couldn't just brush off and I knew deep in my heart that what the missionaries had to say was true and shortly after that I was baptised.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going into my community and helping others where I can, I currently am working with the City of Shoreline and the construction crews to make sure that the city is handicapped accessable for wheelchair users. I have rallied for sidewalks and was successful. Now I am making sure that streets are also safe for wheelchair users. I have worked trying to get a path for bicycles as well as wheelchair users and was successful at that. I help my church by making sure I do my calling which during the school year I help to arrange for teachers to show up at the church for students who are taking seminary which basically is like an scripture class. I have been a supervisor for the sisters when they go visit people I would keep track of thier visits. I also worked at Deseret Industries (which is a thrift store) for five years doing different things there, now I volunteer there when I can.
