Hi I'm DeAnn

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Idaho but my husband and I have been living in Colorado since 1980. We have 5 children.

About Me

My husband and I have been married for 35 years. We have 5 children and 10 grandchildren. I have had the opportunity of being a stay at home mom. We love spending time with our family. I enjoy reading, traveling when we can and our family enjoys camping in the great Colorado outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the LDS church but not active in the church for many years. Though my sisters and I had many active LDS extended family members we did not grow up in the church. When I was in high school one of my dear friend's started inviting me to church. I went. Because I didn't want to keep going alone I dragged my twin sister with me. We began to learn so much about our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. We were invited to go to Girl's Camp. That was where I realized I had the beginnings of my testimony. I felt and recognized the Holy Ghost while there at camp. As I studied scriptures, attended meetings, prayed and obeyed the commandments I felt the Holy Ghost in my life and found the truthfulness of the gospel for myself.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by serving others. I have worked in various capacities in the church. Though I have learned much from each and every calling I have had, I absolutely love working with the young children. What great youth are in the world today! It is a great blessing and opportunity to teach and serve them. I am presently serving on the Stake Public Affairs Committee and I am on our ward's woman's activity committee. I am also a visiting teacher. We are called as visiting teachers, women who are asked to visit other women in the ward. We visit them at least once a month and give them a gospel message. It is our opportunity to help if and when needed and support each other. I am grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The things I learn through my church meetings and personal study and service have helped me in more ways than I can discuss here. I know I am a better parent because of the gospel in my life. I try to follow our Saviors example. The most imortant way I try to live my life is by looking at the eternal nature of things. When I make decisions I ask myself the question, "What is most important for eternity"and "What would Jesus do". These questions help me in every area of my life.
