Hi I'm Karen

I have three children and a great husband. I have a degree in education. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a great husband. We have two boys and one girl. Our children bring us such joy and we are very blessed to have them. I got my degree in education, but I am fortunate to be able to stay at home with my children. I am on the Parent Teacher Organization Board at our elementary school. I love working with the other parents and teachers in our community. I also like feeling involved at my children's school. I studied vocal performance for a few years in college and I love to sing. I especially love to sing opera although I don't do that much anymore. Even so, I love my life! Over the last few years I had some health scares and that allowed me to contemplate on what is truly important and what things bring me true joy. After nearly dying, I know very strongly that my family and my testimony in Jesus Christ are the most important things in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon. At a very young age my parents taught me how to pray and gain my own testimony. Through prayer, I came to know my Savior Jesus Christ for myself, that He does live and has atoned for our sins. I also know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and translated "The Book of Mormon." I know that "The Book of Mormon" is a true book and teaches of our Savior Jesus Christ. I also believe in the Bible and know that it teaches us of our Savior. I know that Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet today. I know that we can be together forever through the sealing power in the temples. If we live worthily, we will be able to live again with our family, our Savior, and our Heavenly Father. I can't think of anything that brings me more peace than that knowledge. I know our Heavenly Father loves all of us and wants us to return to Him. I believe all these things because I have prayed about them and felt overwhelming peace and joy. I continue to feel that peace and joy as I live the gospel. I am extremely blessed to be a member of "The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints." I do have a testimony of these things and it makes me want to share this joy with everyone.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being active in my community, particularly the school. I also help with music at church. I go visiting teaching to women from church. I try to help the families in church and the community. Most importantly I serve my family and try to teach them the importance of loving and serving others. I try to help my children gain their own testimonies just as my parents showed me how to gain my own testimony. I know that as I serve others I am serving Jesus Christ. I truly believe service is the best way to experience true joy.
