Hi I'm Christine

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Colorado and have lived here all my life except while serving in the US military.

About Me

I'm a single divorced adult female. I enjoy photography which has gotten me into the hobby of Birding (Bird Watching). I have traveled around the world in the military and enjoy traveling still. I have no children, but I have had the opportunity to mentor teenagers who have needed a helping hand.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints following my parents as models as they were converts to the faith. My father prayed for guidance one night of what he could do the raise a better family. His answer came shortly as a couple of nights later, 2 Missionaries from the Church knocked on the door. My father said he would let them in if they could answer a multitude of question he had pondered all his life and could never get the answers. He let them in and they answered all the questions and the answers were like the flood gates of Heaven had opened to him, he knew they were correct principles of the Lord Jesus Christ. After being taught by the Missionaries, He joined the church and received the gift of the Holy Ghost and authorized to hold the Priesthood. He later baptized my mother and my brothers and sisters and me as we also accepted the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I grew up in the Church with our family and choose to receive the blessings of the Gospel as well by being baptized at age 8. I have loved having Jesus Christ as my personal Savoir in my life and following him the best I can. Being a member of the Church and being Mormon is my life everyday and I try to effectively utilize daily Faith In Jesus Christ, keeping my baptismal covenants I made at Baptism, listening to and being worthy to have the Holy Ghost work in my life as a protector, guide, companion and teacher. We all have trials in our lives, and mine have made me closer to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and partner with them through the Atonement that Jesus Christ made for us. I know that this earth life is part of the plan Heavenly Father has for us to become more like him, to grow and strengthen our lives through his Gospel and to his servants to build the lives of others through service and love. We all make mistakes but any mistake can be corrected through the Repentance process. I know there is a true Prophet today to lead for us to follow.

How I live my faith

I love the community of Parker, Colorado as the church members here work with other faiths and the community to make a better place for families. My congregation/ward is often called the healing ward. I moved here 10 years ago and was having struggles with my faith and life and knew that I needed to effectively get my life in order and to progress and grow and make some changes in my life. I was prompted to move where I did after much prayer and after I moved my life has changed through the efforts of the Bishops and church leaders in the Parker area and the guidance I receive through living my life righteously the best I can and as I choose to do so happily. I have had several callings at church such as: Family History/Genealogy Consultant, Ward Missionary, Provident Living Specialist, Women’s Organization Teaching Specialist, and as well just serving at the Denver Area Bishop Store house and Cannery for Humanitarian World Relief projects. I think the most challenging and rewarding calling was serving as the Parker Area Single Adult Representative and working to organize activities to build the Single Adult Program and service project to assist the community. I love the visiting teaching program for the sisters in our congregation, we take care of each other through visiting them and teach a short lesson provided by the council of the Prophet/church leaders, and attend to any needs needed by the family, such as meals, moving, chores, spiritual support, prayers, assistance with children and newborns, etc, I know through this program we are extensions of the Lord Jesus Christ and his love for all his children. I also love so much be able to be a Family History/Genealogy Consultant, in this capacity as well as the other calling we can serve anyone who has an interest. I love the blessing of seeing someone learn of their ancestors and working on family history work and learning of who they are descended. Family History is a universal activity.
