Hi I'm Jake

I grew up with eight siblings in a small coal mining town. I like fishing and playing sports. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wonderful Family. I love spending time with my wife and two sons. As a family we enjoy camping in the Rocky Mountains and fishing in nearby lakes. I spend my free time working with the local cub scouts as a Den Leader and taking my sons on long bicycle rides near our home. My wife and I enjoy traveling and are working hard to someday take a trip to Europe. I think I live in one of the most beautiful places on earth and love spending time outdoors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be raised in a strong Mormon family. My parents were great examples and taught me how to love God and love my fellow man. When I was nineteen I left home for the first time and had the opportunity to test out life all on my own. I learned to rely on the savior for my strength and protection. I gained a strong testimony of the Gospel threw prayer and scripture study. I have felt the touch of the Holy Ghost many times in my heart and it has confirmed my faith. I feel blessed to be a member of the Church. I know my life and my Family’s lives are guided by the Savior as I try to live by his teachings. True joy can only be experienced during this earthly life when we give up everything and follow the Savior. Knowing the truth about the plan of salvation gives me great confidence and hope that someday I will be worthy to return to my Father in Heaven. What a marvelous thing it is to have the restored Gospel on the earth today.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by treating others the way I believe the savior would want to be treated. Service is wonderful because it blesses the giver more than the receiver. I look for opportunities during each day to show my faith by my works. I try to serve others by using me free time being a Den Leader in a local Cub Scouts troop.
