Hi I'm Layne

I am a Colorado native and love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised in a small town in Southern Colorado. As a child I spent many hours with my dad, he taught me the value of hard work. We spent many days together in the mountains hunting and fishing. I have passed that tradition on to my 3 sons. We have some great memories of hunting, fishing, and riding four-wheelers in the mountains. I married my best friend from high school and we have been married for 27 years. I work as a business analyst for a pharmacy benefit management company.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to be raised in a home where the gospel was taught. My parents provided great examples for me to follow. My understanding of where I came from, why I am here and where I am going gives me great perspective and helps me find hope when facing the challenges of life. I served a mission for the church during which I saw lives change. As I taught investigators about Jesus Christ and His plan of happiness I saw great blessings come into their lives. I continue to see those same blessings in my life and the lives of my family members as we strive to live the commandments and follow His teachings.

How I live my faith

I try to spend as much time with my family as I can. They are my greatest joy and I want to be with them forever! I try everyday to help others and do the things that I know are right. I worked with the young men ages 12-18 and helped them in the scouting program for the past 10 years. I have seen many fine young men receive their Eagle Award and go on to serve a mission for the church. It has blessed my life to work with these young men and see their joy and happiness as they live the teachings of Jesus Christ. I currently serve as a counselor to our Bishop, through this I have opportunities to serve and help members of our congregation. I have seen the blessings that come through service to others.
