Hi I'm Star

I'm a native of Colorado. I have 4 daughters and 2 son-in-laws, a fabulous husband and I'm going to be a grandma and I'm a mormon!

About Me

My great grandparents joined the Mormon church in Armenia in the late 1800's. It took them 4 years to get from Armenia to Utah to join the other mormons in Salt Lake City. My Mom and Dad always instilled a great sense of pride and love for our heritage and family. Today I feel that same sense of pride and love for my family that I have today and my future family members to come. I have 4 wonderful daughters and 2 new son-in-laws. I love having my family grow and I really love having a full dinner table with good food and lots of fun and laughter. I love vacations to a secret lake in Montana, Hawaiian getaways and "Fall crazy dinners" with fun family members. As my family continues to get older I'm trying to figure out what to do with all my new spare time! Pilates has become a new love, I could do it everyday! I love to garden, and sew and do fun things around my house. I've been married to my husband for 28 years and life just keeps getting better and better. He's my best friend and nobody can make me laugh like he can. I think I'll keep him! Forever:)

Why I am a Mormon

First of all, the knowledge that I have of a loving Heavenly Father means everything to me. I can't imagine going through life without knowing that someone greater than us all, knows me, loves me as a daughter and cares about me and has a plan for me. That plan allows my family to live together forever with Him, our Heavenly Father. I love that! I want that more than anything else for my family! That makes living the Gospel of Jesus Christ that much easier. I love that when I feel I can't stand anymore I can kneel and pray and my prayers are heard and answered. I find great comfort in be able to teach my children about a Father in Heaven who loves them and that He's there for them and that they can depend on Him. Life is just better with that knowledge. Life is just better being a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I've worked with the youth in the church for most of my adult life and it's been wonderful. I've taught them, planned activities with them, camped with them, taken trips with them, worked side by side in service projects and eagle scout projects, laughed with them and cried with them. I've watched them go off to college, have careers, get married and have families. I loved being a part of their lives and watching them grow and develop into great faithful, strong young women who are doing great things in their lives and in their families and in their communities. Sometimes we have to choose between being a leader for our youth or being a friend. I've been blessed in that I've been able to be both.
