Hi I'm Heather

I am a stay-at-home mother of five children.

About Me

My husband and I have 5 children. Some of the things that I enjoy doing with my family are playing board games, camping, and traveling. I enjoy sewing, and reading a really good book. I have a desire to learn more about American History, the great wars of civilization, and how to make bread, and I am passionate about learning how to organize my home. (This does NOT mean that my home is organized, quite the opposite, hence the need to learn!) I find new things that I want to learn about all the time and get frustrated becuase I can not always have the time to dig in soak up all the knowledge.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel of Jesus Christ because it applies to everyone. Weather you fall in the high, middle, or low category of anything, intelligence, weight, height, money, job, whatever, you can get something out of the gospel. When I put the principles of the Restored Gospel to use, I feel the spirit, and I know in my heart that it is right. When I read the scriptures, I feel the spirit witness to me of the truth contained in them. It is such a sweet, peaceful, yet powerful feeling that I can not deny it. These experiences, and many more have caused me to believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the Lords church on the earth.

How I live my faith

I mostly live my faith by trying to learn from others. I feel as though I know so little. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so many that are such a great example. I try to be honest with myself and with those around me. Aside from making scripture study and prayer a daily habit, I think the biggest thing for me is to try and serve. I look for opportunities to help others, or to just make someones day better. I try not to be grumpy with my kids, or the slow checkout line, or the telemarketers. I recognize that in difficult or frustrating circomstances I can either frown and make myself and everyone around me more miserable with my cutting words, or I can smile, say a few cheery words, and move on, leaving those around me feeling uplifted. I hope that by serving others I will learn to be more charitable and to be more like the Savior.
