Hi I'm Noemi Luna

I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX. I love to sing. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 32 year old mother of three little girls, whom I love with all my heart. I work full time for SAISD, I'm a full time Zumba Instructor in San Antonio, I volunteer often at my girl's school and in all that.. I always find time for my family, church and home. I'm all about fitness and helping others reach their fitness goals. I wasn't always about fitness... I use to weigh almost 200 lbs. But one day I woke up and decided to start working on my physical me. It took a lot of work and dedication, but I'm now looking and feeling better then I've ever felt before in my life. I love to go to the movies, parks, swimming and all other stuff with my family. I am not a perfect person... and I will never say I am... that's why I need the church in my life... But I know that Heavenly Father loves me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up being a Jehovah's witness with my mother. As you know, Jehovah's witness do not celebrate anything. I remember growing up wishing that I did. When I was 16 I decided that I did not want to become one. I got married at 19 years old. My first child was born in 2003 and 2nd child was born in 2004. In 2006, when my girls were 2 & 3 years old, I wanted to start praying and they had no clue what I was talking about. I asked them who they thought was God, and again they had no clue what I was talking about. It was at that moment when I knew that I needed to get them to know Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. I started praying. One day, in August 2004, I was on my way to my mother-in-laws house, which was a 5 minute walk from mine, and while there I saw two young men dressed in white colored shirts with black slacks with their back backs on their back. For a moment, something was telling me to ask them something. I knew I knew them from somewhere but didn't know exactly where. I remember them looking at me then turning away. I did the same thing. After a minute, I remember them walking towards me and my girls. I asked them a few questions. They introduced themselves to me as Missionaries of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later-day Saint. I didn't know what that was but I knew that the spirit was telling me to listen to them. They invited me to church that Sunday... 4 weeks later I was baptized. I'm still pushing strong.

How I live my faith

I love to serve my community and church members as much as possible. I attend a Spanish branch, so I try to help them communicate with the community. I help them find work. My husband is a plumber, so we help other that need the service. I love to visit my sister as often as possible. For the last four years, I, along with 50+ members, have volunteer at the Raul Jimenez Dinner that I organized for my church to attend. Two church sister and I are currently working with helping in a Children's Shelter to help them with things they might need (rather it be clothing, food or just a friend to talk with). For two years, I spent my time teaching the younger children the Gospel of the Lord. It was such a blessing to me and my family. I taught the choir for 2 years... and this year I am working with a quartet. I have worked with the youth in cleaning up the community. I've organized 5 de Mayo, 16 de Septiembre, Fall Fest, Thanksgiving and Christmas Activities along with friends and family from the church. It is such a blessing organizing events for friends and family to enjoy at no cost to them. I know that by me servicing my brothers and sisters, Heavenly Father will bless me with more things.

What is faith?

Noemi Luna
Faith is to believe in something even though you can't see it. We can't see air but we know it exist. I know that even though I did not see the Savior walk this Earth, I still have faith that he came and that he was chosen by our Heavenly Father to come and be our Savior. I have faith that the Church of Jesus Christ was a church that Jesus Christ built and later it was restored by Joseph Smith and then it was called the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
