Hi I'm Jon

I grew up in Colorado. I drive a fork lift. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I are busy raising three children. I enjoy trail running and on most weekends you can find me camping with the scouts.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate to have been born into a home where the gospel of Jesus Christ was taught and practiced. I learned at a young age the importance of prayer. Our Father in heaven listens to those prayers and sends real answers. For me, the gospel is about serving others. There is an undeniable joy that comes from giving of one's self. I believe that this life is a time of learning. Making mistakes is part of the learning process. If we learn to forgive others, God will forgive us. It is through Jesus Christ that we are saved.

How I live my faith

I'm involved heavily with the youth of my church. Specifically, I work with the young men ages 12-13. They are a lively bunch and I spend most of my time trying to get them to sit still. It can be a real challenge on Sunday's to keep their attention during a lesson. Thankfully during the week we all meet as boy scouts. Scouting provides an outlet for their energy as well as teaching opportunities. Sitting around an evening camp fire with them is something special. We talk about the challenges they face at school and sometimes in their own families. I'm helping them to realize that the decisions they make now will impact what kind of men they will become.
