Hi I'm Jared

I'm a husband, father, finance professional/consultant, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Utah. After high school I attend Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho) for one year before serving a mission in the Greece Athens mission where I learned to love the Greek people and language. After my mission I returned to Ricks College and graduated with an Associates in Accounting. AFter graduating from Ricks College I went down to BYU-Provo. I graduated with a BS in Accounting. After working with a construction company as a student for a couple of years I went to MBA school. I attended the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. A career after MBA school brought me to the great Pacific Northwest. I am married to a wonderful woman. We have three daughters whom we love dearly.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family. However, that is not the reason I am Mormon. At the age of 12 I was challenged by a church leader to read the Book of Mormon, pray about it, and gain my own testimony of its truthfulness. I accepted the challenge and did just that. In answer to my prayer the Holy Ghost testified of truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. The testimony I gained that day has made me into the person I am today. Everything I am, everything I do, and everything I hope to become is a result of my testimony of the truthfulness of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I also know that God hears and answers prayers. I have had countless experiences in my life where I look back and realize the Lord answered my prayers. He hears each one of our prayers. If we are patient and really listen, we will recognize His answers.

How I live my faith

I currently work as the executive secretary in my local congregation. In this capacity I schedule interviews and manage the calendar for our local leader. I read my scriptures daily and love the lessons I learn and the strength I draw from them. I communicate with my Father in Heaven through prayer on a daily basis. This gives me great strength and direction. I try to teach my daughters the Gospel through example. By striving to live a Christ-like life I believe I teach them more about being a Mormon than any of the words I use to teach them. Knowing that my little girls are watching me and learning from me provides great incentive to walk the walk.
