Hi I'm Davis

I am a Radiation Oncologist and a father of 5 children, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small rural farming community in Arizona. I am one of 10 children in my family and grew up in an LDS home. I served a mission for the church in Philadelphia Pennsylvania from 1992-94. When I returned home I started school where I promptly met my future wife and fell in love. We've been married now for over 16 years and have 5 beautiful children. I finished my undergraduate school at the Univeristy of Arizona and went to medical school at the University of Virginia. I am now a Radiation Oncologist practicing in the Phoenix area. I enjoy sports, especially softball, and really enjoy watching my wife run marathons... while I sit on the sidelines :)

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, but that is not why I am still a member today. At some point we all have to decide for ourselves what is true. For me that time really came while I was on my mission. I saw what the gospel could do, how it changed peoples lives for the better, and that made me realize all of the blessings that I received as a member of the church. The more opportunities that I've had to serve in the church, the more my testimony has been strengthened. There is a purpose to this life, and that purpose can be discovered through sincere study and prayer.

How I live my faith

I am currently involved in the young mens program of our church, working with teenage boys ages 16-18. We help to organize activities mostly thru the Venture scouting program, but also with youth of other ages within the church. I also enjoy associating with other members of the church in performing service projects, playing softball and basketball, as well as our regular Sunday services.
