Hi I'm Erica Townsend

I grew up in Las Vegas. I'm a singer, you can find me on Itunes. I'm a mother of 4. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 33 years old. I have 4 children who cause me more stress and grief then I've ever experienced in my life but also bring me more joy, peace, and love then I've ever experienced in my life as well. My husband and I have been married for almost 13 years. When I was a little girl I remember my neighbor friend had a little house that we would play in. We would play "house". And all I can say is that being married and having a family is not like playing "house" when we were younger. It's harder, but also more fun and more challenging. I like spending time with family especially at a BBQ. I love gardening. It's the one thing that will obey me and I love that after all my hard work and labor the results show after weeks or months. Not 18 years. Although I know seeing how my children turn out will be so much more worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Mormon church but at some point when I was a young child my parents fell away and stopped attending church. I think without regular church attendance anyone can start to be less in tune with the Holy Ghost. I believe that Heavenly Father communicates with us through the Holy Ghost. It helps us to make the right choices, grants us wisdom for parenting, marriage and other areas of our lives. I can tell looking back that my parents needed some of that inspiration. They were great parents who taught me love and generosity, but the joy and complete peace that we can receive from the scriptures and church attendance was lacking. When I was a teenager I began attending church again. I began to read the Book of Mormon and I began to notice a difference deep inside. I began to feel a joy, a love, a guidance, that I had never felt before. Like someone was finally able to wrap there arms around me after years of being apart. I know now that it was my Heavenly Father letting me know how much he loved me. Those feelings are always there. I never want to lose that feeling again. This life is hard but the Lord wants us to have joy. The Joy I received that day, and still feel today, is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving in various positions in my church. I've worked with young children. While the moms and dads are at there different sunday school classes the little ones are being watched over. I've watched the younger children 18months-3 years in the nursery. I've taught sunday school classes for kids whose ages range from 5-12 years old. I'm also a visting teacher. Once a month I contact woman from my area to visit. We give them a spiritual message to help up lift them. These visits are also important to check on the well being of individual sisters. How is there health, finances, family life, and any thing else that might be burdening them at the time. There are so many positons in my chuch that I've served in but let me just say that no matter what positon I've been asked to fill. I'm happy to do it because the lord needs helpers in order for his church to function properly.
