Hi I'm Christena.

I taught elementary school and now get to be a busy wife and mother! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of 8 kids, all born to the same mom and dad. I loved playing "house" when I was young because being a wife and mother was my goal. I enjoy wholesome musicals and love to sing. I've been married a few years now and have an energetic daughter. I taught elementary school for a few years and also served a mission for a year and a half. I rarely follow a cooking recipe exactly, so often create new recipes of my own. I am having a blast spending my time with my baby, experiencing life all over again as she explores and learns for herself.

Why I am a Mormon

Heavenly Father has a plan for all of His children to live with him again. Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is our Savior and his central to that plan. The Holy Spirit has made this plain for me several times in my life so I make choices to follow this plan. I have received numerous answers to my prayers and witnesses miracle after miracle that are real and tangible. I am a Mormon because the Book of Mormon has changed my life and not only has given me knowledge, but it has given me power to overcome obstacles in my life. I feel my Savior's love when I attend my church meetings and fulfill assignments from my church leaders. I believe this is the fullness of God's blessings here on Earth.

How I live my faith

I go to church every Sunday. I pay tithing. I read the scriptures and pray. My husband and I have couple prayer each morning and night. We spend time formally as a family every Monday night where we have a prayer, hymn, lesson, and, sometimes, an activity. We also go to the temple together to reflect on spiritual things. I make visits often to people in our congregation both with my husband, the missionaries, and with other friends. During these visits I get to share my testimony and teach principles of the gospel. We teach what Jesus taught. I also hold weekly play dates with other young moms and their children in my area to fellowship together and offer support as we raise our children. It's a way to make new friends and strengthen meaningful friendships. I love to have the missionaries over for dinner to serve them. I often invite others to our home for dinner to support and fellowship.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost testifies of truth. He is also the messenger from God to us of things we ought to do: this is revelation. The Holy Ghost has blessed my life by comforting me, teaching me, guiding the choices I make, and has protected me from danger. I am so thankful for the gift of the Holy Ghost to be with me and help me along the path back to Heavenly Father. Show more Show less
