Hi I'm Christina

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife & mother of 3 boys. I love traveling, making candy, reading and writing stories.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both converts to the church. They had six daughters and were dedicated to raising us in a Christ centered home. In teaching us through example, I learned that happiness truly comes when we are focused on serving and loving others. We were not wealthy in the traditional sense, but I feel as though I am rich in the relationships our family created. Now that I am a mother and wife I understand how the principles of this church are the glue that holds us together and provides peace and joy in this life as we face challenges.

How I live my faith

Now I try and show through example to my children how to find happiness as we serve our families and fellow men. I am provided opportunities to grow personally when asked to teach classes, speak in front of large gatherings, or help with humanitarian projects. Some of these have been difficult for me as I have had to overcome some fears, but I have felt my Heavenly Father's strength and guidance as I do my part. Last year my youngest child was in a four wheeler accident and was bleeding internally. The situation was life threatening. It was the most awful moment in my life. My mind was caught up in prayer to God, pleading with Him spare his life. At that time I recalled a woman speaking in our church about how she had been in a similar position and it wasn't until she was willing to trust the Lord that she was able to find peace. As I prayed I realized that I should not be telling the Lord what to do, but that I needed to be willing to accept His will. In my agony I changed my prayer to plead for him to strengthen my faith and be willing to accept whatever was to be regardless of the outcome. My son was given a special blessing(prayer) by those who hold the priesthood shortly after and was able to recover from his injuries. My family and I have been so very blessed by our activity in this church. I know it is the true Church of Jesus Christ and that it can bring true joy and lasting happiness.

What is a ward/stake/branch?

As young family we moved away from the country we were raised to attend University. We were far from home, in a time when there was no internet or cellphones. Our ward became family away from home. A ward can become your support network, no matter where you are in the world. My baby sister was due with twins and put on strict bed rest early on in her pregnancy. Our family was all far away and other than brief visits were unable to help with her busy toddler or care for her. The ward she lived in became angels to us as they took in meals, helped with the toddler and served her when we could not. Show more Show less
