Hi I'm Klaudette

I'm a wife. I am a mother of 6 great kids. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am an outgoing, friendly person! I like to sew, quilt, crochet, cook, read, and spend time with my family! As a young adult I attended college for two years, but when our children started coming I put my full-time energy into being a mom. I have loved being able to parent to five sons and a daughter (no - our daughter is not the youngest!) In 2006 I decided to go back and finish my college degree. I went back to school full-time and was able to walk at commencement with my oldest son and his wife in 2008. I have a son serving as a missionary for our church. This is a wonderful blessing for our family. We miss him, of course, but we are so happy that he would want to share the gospel for two years. I still have my youngest two sons at home so I still spend most of my time with them, but my favorite night of the week is date night! My husband and I try to spend one night a week with just each other.

Why I am a Mormon

Some of my friends who are not of my faith think I am a "traditional" mormon. I was baptized when I was 8 years old and grew up in a mormon family. But I remind them that even though someone is young, they still have agency to make that choice. Even children who grow up in mormon homes must decide if they are going to live the gospel. I can still remember (almost 40 years ago) my baptism and confirmation to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. For me, it was a very spiritual experience where the Spirit confirmed to me that what I was doing was the right thing for me to do. I would have to say that my favorite thing about the church is that we are led by a living prophet. I love the analogy in the scriptures that likens a prophet to a watchman on the tower. I find great comfort knowing that Jesus Christ can speak to us through a prophet just like in ancient times. I love that the church has 12 apostles - just like when Jesus Christ was on the earth and organized His church then. I truly cherish my membership in the church. It is one of the great blessings in my life.

How I live my faith

I love my community. Currently I serve on the hospital foundation board for the hospital in our town. I love to help at the schools that my children attend.  I am currently serving as a ward missionary in my congregation at church. I help the missionaries serving in my area. In the past, I have helped orgainze a camp for all the teen-age girls, taught the women at church, taught the youth, and taught the children. Everyone is needed and we take turns doing different volunteer jobs as the Bishop assigns. I also visit four sisters that attend church with me. I watch over them and visit them in their indiviual homes each month and bring a spiritual message. In turn, other women visit and watch over me. It is a beautiful feeling to have such a sisterhood among the women.
