Hi I'm Jason Duffy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of five terrific kids and have been blessed to be able to raise them with my beautiful wife for the last 14 years. For my profession, I work in the mortgage lending industry. I enjoy golfing, turkey hunting, coaching my children's sports teams, and traveling, but most of all simply spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the LDS church throughout my life. And while I have grown up with the beautiful and simple teachings of the gospel of Jesus Christ, conversion to those teachings really didn't happen until I was 17 years old. At that time some of life's difficult experiences caused me to earnestly seek to know whether the things I had been taught throughtout my life were true, so I began to read the Book of Mormon. As I read and looked for direction in my life, I felt the Holy Ghost speak to me with a quite warmth that was unmistakeable. I have since felt that same Spirit many times and know that the words of the Book of Mormon are true and that the LDS church is true. This knowledge has led to other truths--that God is our Father, that he has a plan for us, that there is a prophet that leads his church today, and that families can be together eternally.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being involved in my children's lives, my community and my church. The family is the foundation of society and its my responsibility to teach my children and be involved enough in their lives that they come to understand that real happiness can only be founded upon the teachings of Jesus Christ. I also think it is important to be involved in the community. Currently, I coach my son's basketball team, try to participate in community events, and am the Scoutmaster for eleven "energetic" 12 and 13 year old boys. Truly, it has been a lot of fun! On Sundays, I attend church and am able to teach those same boys the truths that will prepare them for life.
