Hi I'm Beate

I'm a Mormon. A straight talking, educated, busy wife and mother of 2.

About Me

I am myself, a wife, a mother. I am educated. I am fluent in 3 languages. I volunteer freely, working with foreign language learners who are striving to better their lives and language skills. I read several books at one time, and I am trying to figure out who I will be when I grow up. I am the behind the scenes support to my spouse, who is self employed. I love where I live, who I am married to and my kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a spiritual person by choice. I read the scriptures while I was young, voluntarily! While at university, missionaries happened across my doorstep one cold, frosty night. My room mate and I listened intently, and then laughed it off. They were determined to share their message, so we met with them again-often. After almost 3 years of investigation, I was prompted to join the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have always been studious by nature, so during those years, I attended my regular mass first, and then attended the LDS ward down the street. I would compare doctrine, and analyze the differences between the two teachings of the day. After much strife with my family, I decided to do what I thought was right for myself. Following the promptings of the Spirit, I was baptized and confirmed a member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The road has not been easy. I was estranged from my family for several months after my baptism. We reconciled, yet relations were strained. After several years, my marriage and our first child, our relationship has started to heal. Currently, we are building a better relationship. I do not regret my decision to convert to the LDS faith. It has brought me much joy and happiness. I have felt the love of my Savior. I have felt prompting of the Spirit, telling me what I have done is right, and will benefit my posterity. I know that there is loving Heavenly Father, who wants what is best for me, and is mindful of me, and knows who I am. I want to return to live with him. I am doing my best so that I may be worthy of that blessing when that time comes.

How I live my faith

I love how Heavenly Father gives us opportunities to develop and share our talents and testimonies with others. Through church service I find myself growing, becoming more patient, more kind. I am also learning about the Savior. Currently, I am teaching a very small class of youth. We are learning about the doctrines of the gospel, such as prayer, scripture study and service. We are also learning about the Savior's love for us, and how we can be of service to others in the world today. I also study the scriptures for my own benefit. Through personal scripture study, I am learning of Jesus' life, and his love for all people on the earth. By studying his example, and following it, I hope to become more Christlike in my actions and my love for all fellow mankind.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

The Bible is an early record that testifies of the Jesus Christ's divinity. The Old Testament contains holy records that pertain to the coming of the promised Savior. The New Testament tells of the Savior's life and death. The New Testament also tells of the establishment of His church on earth. There are many gospel truths in the Bible. Show more Show less
