Hi I'm Marie Hall

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love God, my family, this beautiful earth and the people on it. I love to travel and experience different cultures and their food. I love studying the humanities, specifically film, music, and literature. I am currently learning Kajukenbo, a mixed martial art which was created in Honolulu, Hawaii, and I am so excited about it! I love soccer, tennis, rock climbing, and mt biking. I love making mini documentaries of my "close and loving family" (which is how my 5 year old niece described us one day).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of God the Father, His son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. I have a testimony of the Plan of Salvation and that Christ suffered for us to make this possible. I have a strong desire to return and live with my Father in Heaven again, and I look forward to that time. At present, I also look forward to the time and experiences I am blessed to share with my family and friends, and the opportunity to start an eternal family here on this earth. I am a Mormon because of the pure love and peace that I feel every Sunday when I am able to partake of the Sacrament. I am a Mormon because of the strength I receive and share with my fellow ward members each week as we greet, testify, and build each other up. I am a Mormon because of the wonderful service opportunities set up through the church. I been blessed to help out with many different service projects throughout my life. I know I serve God when I serve His children. I am a Mormon because being a Mormon teaches me how to be like Christ.

How I live my faith

I do my best to follow our Savior's example. I accept and fulfill all church related callings with the energy of my heart and faith. I pray often, I read scriptures daily, I obey God's commandments, I serve, I love, and I build others up. Some days I try harder at these things than others, but I am happy to realize that I have at least tried, at some level, to do these things every day of my life. My happiness doesn't come from my list checking skills, instead it comes from realizing that my will is often aligned with God's will. My happiness comes from the blessing to deeply feel the pure love of God within these daily actions. I am extremely far from perfect, and some days are better than others. However looking back from this moment, I mostly see God's love and tender mercies. I see my life experiences (successes, failures, and emergences from trials) enveloped in the love and protection of God. I believe Nephi when he said that if we go and do the things the Lord commands that He will provide a way for us to accomplish those things (1Nephi 3:7). I believe Nephi because every time I test this principle God provides.
