Hi I'm Tim

I was raised as a Presbyterian. I joined the Mormon church when I was serving in the Air Force. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After the Air Force, I went to college and received a degree in Accounting. I met and married my wife while in college and we have five children. Three of them are married now. One of our children has a reading disability called dyslexia. We worked long and hard to give him what he needed. I worked in the Accounting field for 20 years and then changed careers and became certified as a dyslexia specialist. I enjoy reading historical novels and helping my wife with the garden.

Why I am a Mormon

I was introduced to the gospel by a fellow serviceman. The more I learned about the doctrines of the church, the more I liked. I was particularly interested in their understanding of the plan of life, or what happens after death. I was able to pray about this and received special feelings in my heart made me understand that the teachings of the Church were true. I have never regreted my decision to be baptized. The more I study the more convinced I am. I have grown in so many ways. It has made me a kinder and gentler person. I have had the Holy Spirit touch my heart several time. It has given me knowledge that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of the Lord.

How I live my faith

As my family has participated in the Boy Scout of America program, I have served in several positions within that organization. All three of my boys have received their Eagle awards. It is a great program for boys. Within the Church I visit and watch over as many as six families each month. I have served on the coordinating council of our local congregation for many years. Professionally I have presented at several free seminars to educate teachers and parents about dyslexia.
