Hi I'm Nancy

I am a mother of 5 sons, all married. I have 12 grandchildren, I have been married 37 years. I love people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am pretty ordinary, I make mistakes just like everyone else. It is a constant work in progess to do what is right and to make good choices. I just know I have to keep trying. I love my family, especially when I can spend time with them.. making memories. I love that I have 5 sons, ever since I was a little girl, I wanted to be a mother. Now that my children are grown, I work full time as an Optician, I LOVE working with people. My job is perfect for meeting all kinds of wonderful people and making friends, and learning new skills. In my spare time I enjoy making jewelry, watching a good movie, visiting with friends and family, playing with the grandchildren, soaking up some sun by the pool. I like listening to audio books when I drive anywhere, with my busy schedule it affords me the time to get a good book read. I enjoy spending time with my husband whenever I can, he is my best friend.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, so I have always been a Mormon. My family has always been religious and served in the church. I have never doubted the truthfullness of the gospel, I have been blessed in my life with faith. As a child I believed the church was true because I had a strong faithful family. As an adult I have read the Book of Mormon many times and I can tell you that I know it is a true testiment of Jesus Christ. I know now for myself that the church teaches correct principles, and that we have a living prophet here on this earth today. I know that I can once again be with my family after I die, that the family is eternal, which brings me a great amount of comfort. I am grateful for a young 14 year old boy, Joseph Smith, who prayed to our Heavenly Father to ask which church he should join. Through Joseph Smith the gospel was restored in its fullness to the earth again, and I know that we have a Father in Heaven, his son Jesus Christ our Savior, who atoned for our sins, and the Holy Ghost to give us comfort and guidence. I KNOW my Heavenly Father loves me and knows who I am.

How I live my faith

I love serving in the church, I presently work with the women in the church. We have meetings on days other than Sunday where we learn self reliance, such as sewing, cooking, food storage, budgeting, caring for our families, etc. It is a time where we can visit, learn, make friends. I have helped to orginize humanitarian projects, dinners for our single sisters, opportunities for less fortunate families to be able shop for Christmas.. it is always an ongoing project. I have also served with the young single adults. I have worked as a youth leader in the past and have also worked as a teacher for the primary age children. I have enjoyed all my opportunities to serve, each has helped me to learn and to grow. I have found that being a Mormon is NOT just a Sunday thing, it is a way of life.. again.. I am not perfect at it, but that is not what is important, it is that I am trying, and I know I will make mistakes. But through the atonement of Jesus Christ.. I get to try again and again. I love being a Mormon.
