Hi I'm Kyrk Taylor

I recently returned from serving a mission in the San Antonio, Texas area. I love to sing, swim and be social!

About Me

I recently returned from serving for two full years in Texas. I am now attending BYU-Idaho with a major in Health Care Administration and a minor in Spanish. I love serving others and helping them to make a difference in their lives for the better. I can help many individuals as a CEO of a hospital, which is why I have chosen the major I have. I love to sing, music is one of my passions. I have been singing since I was a little boy, performing as in talent shows, choirs and musicals. I plan on doing all I can to share my musical talents with the world one day.I love to be with people, to socialize and to chat. I was on the swim team in high school as swimming and exercising is one of my passions.I also love the outdoors, hiking, camping and anything to do with adventure. In general, my whole life is centered around the teachings of Jesus Christ, found in his restored church in these latter days. I know that as I live this kind of life, I will find true happiness.

Why I am a Mormon

There seems to be in every individual, a deep desire to know their purpose in this life. A yearning for acceptance, love and happiness. I know and find these things in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. I know where I came from before my life on Earth, why I am here, and where I am going after. Knowing these truths has given me absolute peace. Mormon is simply a nick name that we are given because we read out of The Book of Mormon. It is similar to the bible, in that it contains the fullness of the everlasting gospel of Jesus Christ. It is another witness or testament to the reality that Christ walked on the earth. This book has provided me with solid evidence of the reality of the restoration of Christs church. God always reaches out to his children in love through prophets, after Jesus Christ there was a time period of spiritual darkness where many individuals tried to restore truths that were lost over time. However, the full restoration hadn't happened yet. Joseph Smith was the prophet God called in this time to restore the truths that Jesus Christ restored. The Book of Mormon is evidence of that restoration. I have read its pages many times and feel and know that it is true. I know that God lives and because of his love restored his truths through Joseph Smith. I am in this church because it makes sense, because it makes me happy and gives me purpose. I have found the living waters, where I may drink and never thirst.

How I live my faith

I have recently returned from a full two-year mission where I did nothing but bring others unto Christ. This was and will be the highlight of my life. I was able to witness individuals with broken hearts mend them through the atonement Christ. I invited several others to commit to following the Savior by being baptized into his restored church and some followed. When they did so their lives were illuminated with a hope and glory that will forever bless them. Several lives were blessed as families were able to be sealed together for time and all eternity. One particular individual was baptized and is now currently serving a mission in the Utah, St. George mission. This cycle of truth will continue on to bless countless lives. I am so grateful for that opportunity to invite others to change their lives. I now am living my faith by attending one of the church's universities, Brigham Young University - Idaho. I am seeking to continue my studies so that I can be a better tool in the hands of the Lord. I am an active participant of the activities here and will continue to strive to learn all I can about the Lord's restored church.

To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Kyrk Taylor
I try my very hardest to be kind and happy towards others. People will see that I am always happy and never really get emotionally upset in a negative way. I will serve a mission and tell others of the wonderful gospel and its great impact on my life, and invite them to read the Book of Mormon. I will continue to speak in front of others and testify of the truth of this gospel and testify of our savior Jesus Christ. I also contriube by singing hymns and beautiful sacred music to crowds of people to invite the spirit into the room and their hearts. Show more Show less

How can we stop the spread and influence of pornography?

Kyrk Taylor
There are many things that we can do to stop the ever so prevalent tide of pornography that seems to lay waste to all who encounter it. One of the greatest tools we have on this earth is our testimony and our voice. If we speak up and have a voice for virtue than eventually people will listen. Our government will have to listen if 15 million people are complaining about the horrors of pornography. We should do our best to never encourage it. Refrain from watching or reading anything that is pornographic in any way. We should do our best to attend and support groups like "voices for virtue" or groups who are against pornography. If your a parent take heed to tell your child's teachers that you want no pornography in their learning environment so that the teachers can help this cause. Show more Show less

What do Mormons believe about "eternal life?"

Kyrk Taylor
Mormons believe that eteranl life is the life of immortality. We beleive that we will become resurrected and eventually be like unto our Father in Heaven who is perfect and lives forever. We will be allowed to live in the presence of God with our families through the binding power of the priesthood and the healing power of the atonement of Christ. We believe that eternal life can be reached through repentance and obedience to God's commandments. Eternal life is one of the most comforting aspects of our religion when it comes to the sorrow of one's death. All mormons hope to reach this state of exaltation so that we can remain together as a family in the eternities. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

Kyrk Taylor
Being a mormon is probably the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I am filled with a sense of the eternities and am full or purpose. I know in my heart that this church and its teachings are true and to know this it brings a feeling of peace into my heart that I know everything in this life will be alright. The mormon gospel or LDS attributes to so many of lifes daily challenges. I simply have to read a general conference talk or open my scriptures and I will be able to find comfort to every single one of my challenges. I am always truly happy as a mormon. I do admit, life is pretty difficult at times, but the scriptures and prophets teach us that trials will be for our benefit. I have been uplifted in so many ways because of this church.
