Hi I'm Christy

I’m a pancake maker, chocolate eater, and story reader. I’m a busy mom of 4 beautiful kids. I’m a sister, a friend and a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small town in Southwest New Mexico. After attending Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho, I moved to Oregon where I met and married the love of my life in the Portland Temple. We’ve made our own life adventure with school, moves, different jobs, and everyday life. My little family is now in Washington where we enjoy seeing the color green everywhere. I love books, chocolate, spending time with family and friends, scrapbooking, card making, and being entertained by my children. My home is filled with Legos, pictures on the fridge and love…love for each other and love for the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Mormon family. When I was a teenager, I studied, pondered, and prayed to get a testimony for myself that the Church was true and I got my answer. It is. I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints or a Mormon because I want to belong to Christ’s church and follow Him. Living the doctrines and principles of Christ’s teachings provides me with a way to have a happy, full life. Being a Mormon gives me the tools to raise my family with love and service. It’s great to be a Mormon because I know no matter where I travel in the world the Church is the same and I can instantly find friends. I am never alone by being Mormon.

How I live my faith

By being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, my life becomes living my faith every day. There’s a scripture in the Book of Mormon that says, “We believe in Christ… As a family, we try to follow our Savior Jesus Christ. We learn of him by reading and studying the scriptures both as a family and individually. We take time each week to meet together as a family for Family Home Evening where we learn about the gospel, get to know each other and have fun. We know families can be together forever so we try to build good relationships with each other now. We attend church every Sunday and actively participate in assignments and callings. We look for ways to serve others whether it’s bringing a meal, doing yard work, or simply letting someone know we care. Living my faith is simply living my life. It’s part of everything I do….trying to be honest with my fellow men, being an active citizen, loving and serving my neighbor, teaching my children.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Just like in times of old God calls prophets today to guide and lead us. Because he loves us just as he did his people in ancient times God calls prophets so that we will not have to be blind in knowing what he would have us do. Show more Show less
