Hi I'm Linda

I have a green thumb, a mean forehand and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Japanese American and I grew up on the West Coast. I am married and have 4 children. When I'm not busy taking care of my family, I love to garden at home and at my community garden. I'm on a tennis team and enjoy playing a set or two of doubles. Music means a lot to me also and I spend a few minutes of free time on the violin just for fun.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew in a Christian household with a Presbyterian dad and a mom who was raised with Shinto beliefs. We stopped going to church as a family while I was still very little but that didn't stop my desire to know more about God and His Son, Jesus Christ. I really wanted to know what life was all about and if God actually existed. At that point I wasn't looking to join a church. I always had a love of the Bible and knew that it was a special book so I used that to start my search for the truth. I read and studied the Bible on my own but some of the teachings left me confused and I knew I needed more help to find the truth that I was looking for. At about the same time, my older sister and I both had wonderful friends that were Mormon and they invited us to come to church with them. There, I found out about another set of scriptures, the Book of Mormon. I read it over a period of time and took the challenge in the last part of the book to ask Heavenly Father if it was true or not. After praying sincerely, I felt a sweet assurance that this was a true book and it's teachings would let me finally know God and Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon cleared up my questions that I had in the Bible and together these books have given me a life of peace, joy, and beauty. I was baptized when I was 18 and it's the best decision I've ever made. I'll forever be grateful to those who shared this knowledge with me.

How I live my faith

I love to teach and at church I get to teach other people who are searching for the truth in the scriptures during Sunday School. I want them to know the same things about Heavenly Father and Jesus that have given me so much joy. When I was younger, I went to Chile and taught the wonderful people there about the Savior. I also enjoy going out with the missionaries now when people in my town want to know about our beliefs.
