Hi I'm Howard

I enjoy horses, I am a Father of 4, and a Grandfather of 14, I am a General Contractor, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Besides loving and enjoying horses all of my life, I have enjoyed being a father, grandfather, and husband. I joined Boy Scouts of America as an eight year old, earned the Rank as Eagle Scout as a youth, and served as Scoutmaster four different times, Varsity Coach, Merit Badge Counselor, and helped for over 25 years as an Adult Leader. I enjoy building things. From blueprints to final move-in. I can fix anything except a cake that has fallen. I appreciate my ancestors and the great sacrifice of everyone that has given their time and lives to create and protect my freedoms. I love my wife and family. I am still learning, and despite some of the difficult things I endure and have to endure, I have a good life. My wife and I have traveled to Mozambique, Africa to help orphans and the very poor. We ended up helped and blessed by these wonderful children of our Father in Heaven. We enjoyed being Foster Parents to some wonderful children. What a wonderful world when you look at the good and the beautiful part.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have spent my life trying to live by Christ's teachings. Although I have learned by trial and some error, I know what it means to have peace in this life, even when everything is not going perfect. The great beginning of knowing Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ live and love us all, started from a very powerful experience with him. As a 12 year old, I went out to a storage room behind our home, and for the first time I remember, I knelt down and offered a vocal prayer, asking for forgiveness of something I was feeling guilty about. A wonderful feeling of peace came to me and I felt the burden of guilt completely lifted from me. I have come to recognize through the years that the Holy Ghost witnessed to me that day, that Heavenly Father was real and knows who I am, that Christ paid a price for me to be forgiven, and that the Holy Ghost can bring to our hearts and minds great comfort, peace, knowledge, and testimony. When I do what I know is correct, I am able to get through tough times and enjoy the good parts of life. I know for my self that God lives and loves all, Jesus lives and has taught us by his example how to live lives of happiness, even when it is difficult. Besides having a love of the Bible, I have asked God if the Book of Mormon is truly a Second Testament of Jesus Christ. I had the Holy Ghost burn inside of me a feeling that I cannot deny. What a help the teachings of the Book of Mormon has had on my happiness in this life. That was when I was 19 years old. I am 58 and my testimony is still strong. I invite all to continue to find out more truth for themselves, and then live by God's will for them.

How I live my faith

The greatest joy of my life is to know that my children are happy. All my children are happily married and we have 8 grandchildren. The Gospel of Jesus Christ and how to live righteously can be passed down through generations. It keeps us away from harmful addictions and behaviors that destroy family unity. The second thing that makes me happy is service to others. (Family, Friends, Community, and others) My 25 years of helping raise the boys to become good men using the Boy Scouts of America program was a continuous source of happiness. To see these men raising their children and living good lives makes me feel great. My dear wife was never happy helping only our children, we shared our love with Foster Children and Orphans all over the World. I am grateful for all the good people in the world who serve others with no thought of pay, but just to help. As I get older, I have discovered a gratitude towards our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for the blessings and literal miracles that are and have been in my life. I also am grateful just to be alive and to have a loving family and friends. This deep feeling of gratitude has helped me want to help and lift everyone around me. I find a peace and joy helping others grow, learn, and some times just help them cope with life and death. Just like Christ has taught by example, I want good for everyone.
