Hi I'm Al

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As a youth until I went into the army I worked on ranches and was a cowboy through that time. I am heavily into weight lifting and bodybuilding. I've been in a bodybuilding competition once where I placed 5th out of 15 people. I do a lot of sculpting in rock and wood. I also love to ride motorcycles; mainly Harley's.

Why I am a Mormon

As my wife was having children I wanted to raise my children in truth and I didn't agree with churches that I had attended in the past. They couldn't answer the questions I had as to where we came from, why we are here, and where we're going when we die. I searched a lot of different churches and looked through numerous books in libraries on religions of the Earth. I went to various churches looking for answers. I finally agreed to see the Mormon missionaries and they were able to answer all of my questions. I said the prayer after our second meeting and the Spirit bore witness to me of the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. And shortly thereafter I was baptized.

How I live my faith

I am a counselor in my ward's Bishopric. I assist the Bishop in helping the ward family and others who are not of our faith.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Al
As a member of the Bishopric I have personally gone with the Bishop where we took a man who was homeless and needed some food and a place to stay for the night and a bus ticket to get him to his family in another state. This individual was not a member of our church but came to the church when we were there and asked for help. The Bishop bought him a meal out of his own pocket and we rented a motel room for him for the night and bought a bus ticket to get him to his destination. So no the mormons do not only help mormons but also many others. Not to mention the many humanitarian aids especially with all the recent disasters world-wide. Show more Show less
