Hi I'm Nancy

I'm a thinker and a rhetorician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a family counselor, and taught college for many years. I currently live in the Denver area, where I also spend time plein air painting and trying to raise a large organic garden. My husband and I were married in the Denver Temple in 2005, and we have 5 adult children shared between us.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of this Church because it is the only religion that is founded on doctrines that I can reason with, practice, and pray about and receive a personal testimony from God that they are true, and that He wants me to live them for my growth, safety, and happiness. This is not a religion that requires “spiritual middlemen” to bring the Spirit into my life; the Holy Ghost can confirm the truth to me, and to any sincere seeker. I am a member because I love Jesus Christ as my Savior, and this church is centered on Christ—there are no diversions or distractions from His primary role in my life on a daily basis. Every service in this church that I have the blessing to be involved with has the basis of bringing souls to Christ, and that is what the Bible teaches. It is my testimony that this church has the truth in its fullness, and will lead me to live life in its fullest.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by reading the Holy Bible, the Book of Mormon, and other scriptures, every morning. Continued learning is essential to me in living my religion. I pray daily, and use prayer and fasting to get help solving problems, gain spiritual strength, and join with others of many faiths in seeking blessings for individuals, families, and my community. Most people notice that I don’t drink, swear, or watch many movies and TV shows—which are ways I am trying to keep my life clean. I observe Sunday as a holy day and a day of rest from my regular work. I love going to church services every week, and find that my life is incredibly enriched and strengthened when I meet regularly with the members of my ward (congregation). This is a faith to be lived with joy, positive progress, honest effort, lots of meetings, good, clean fun and great refreshments!
