Hi I'm Glenda

I grew up in Peru. I live in Arizona with my husband and newborn baby and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time mom and I love my family life. I take classes at a community college. I love playing sports and music, but the best part of my life is to me a wife and a mother.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Peru (South America). My parents heard about the LDS Church before I was born and they were baptized members of this church about 5 years before I was born. I grew up being a Mormon. I was taught many good principles and decided to be baptized at the age of 8. I loved going to church and I felt it was the right thing to do. When I was about 14 years old I started to participate more in school activities and some of them were held on Sundays, so I didn't go to church sometimes, or went late. My parents didn't question me for doing that. I had questions about the church and I didn't want to go to church sometimes, but when I didn't go I didn't feel right. That is when I decided to reevaluate my believes, and I decided to read the Book of Mormon and pray about it, I read and stopped to question what I was reading: "Is this real? could Joseph Smith have invented this?" Sometimes I thought: "I could write something like this." I kept reading and praying, and every time, the feeling came to me that it was right, that I was doing the right thing, I especially remember one night, while I was praying the most wonderful feeling came to me, and my mind was full of answers to all my questions. "Yes, this is real: Joseph Smith didn't invent this, and maybe I could write something like this with a great imagination but Joseph Smith didn't." I knew then that he was a Prophet, and he had sacred experiences, and I couldn't question it any more, I knew the Book of Mormon was true for longer that I can remember, but then I knew that I knew, and that came from God, he knew I needed to remember the feeling that moved me to be baptized, and I did. I know that it is true, I served a mission in Peru preaching this Gospel, and, there is no question the gospel cannot answer. God has a plan for us, His Children, and we can find peace in the teaching of Christ. His Church is on earth.

How I live my faith

I really enjoy the way the LDS church helps me to understand service, as I was saying I am a full time mom, Most of the time I stay at home with my new baby I enjoy that time. However, it feels good sometimes to have someone to talk to, and that is why I enjoy when 2 women come once a month to visit and check that I'm doing well, they are called my visiting teachers, I have the opportunity to be a visiting teacher myself, and once a month I can go and visit other women. My husband and I also have the opportunity to teach Sunday School to the 13-14 years old at church, they are starting high school this year, is a great chance to share what has given us so much happiness. Personally, I enjoy it because I was about that age when I understood how precious was the gospel of Jesus Christ to me, and made the commitment to live it and have a good life.
