Hi I'm Jocey

I love my life. I'm a mormon.

About Me

I was born and raised in Arizona. I am the baby of 4, which means...I was everyone's favorite? Or maybe least? I have been married to my husband for almost 10 years now, and not a day has gone by that he hasn't made me laugh. I love my husband more today than when I said "I do" He is my best friend. He is my everything. We have been greatly blessed with 4 children, 3 sweet little girls, and 1 crazy b-bopping boy (how do they make all those sound effects?). I may not have done much with my life, but having children and being called mommy brings more happiness to me then I ever thought imaginable. I love to sing, especially in the car, when maybe my kids are the only ones listening, and then I really let it all out. There is nothing more beautiful then the power of music. I am a volunteer at my children's school, it is so much fun to see them quietly doing their work, since quietly anything doesn't always come home with them. I am loud, outgoing, and joyous and I don't expect my kids to be anything but that. I just love to have a good time, and try to always be doing so.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born in the church. So since I was a young child I was taught about my Father in Heaven, and his plan for me on this earth. I was also taught about Jesus Christ and that he came to this earth to teach us his gospel, and set an example for us, for how we should live, and then he atoned for my sins and died on the cross. It was always easy for me to know that these things were true. And since I am not perfect I am so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ, for his life, and his grace. As a youth it came time for me to really learn, for myself, if the church was true. In a quiet place all by myself, I prayed to my Father in Heaven to know if the church was true. I wanted to know if the Book of Mormon was true and if Joseph Smith was a Prophet. As I sat pondering these things, I found myself randomly searching the scriptures, and through this moment I came upon a scripture that brought the spirit so close to me, that I was suddenly overwhelmed with happiness and a lot of emotions. The Holy Ghost confirmed to me in my heart that Joseph Smith was a Prophet of God and that he restored the gospel of Jesus Christ which had been lost on the earth. And that he did translate the Book of Mormon, which has taught me more of Jesus Christ. Since this time, I have never questioned. Because I know now, through the Holy Ghost that these things are true.

How I live my faith

I try to remember my Savior and how he lived his life. The phrase "what would Jesus do?" goes a long way. I always lend a friendly smile, or simple chats to the cashier, or the person next to me in line. Once, the cashier walked around to me and hugged me, saying thank you, thank you. Who knows what kind of day someone is having? I have learned when you are kind to others, they are kind to you. Everyone needs kindness. I try to be a courteous driver, because we all make mistakes right? I try to be a good friend, and I do my best to make people feel good about themselves, I don't like feeling bad about myself, I can't imagine anyone does. I especially love to work with children, as it is so easy for them to have faith and believe Jesus Christ. I am a loving wife, he was my choice right? So I choose to love my choice. I try to be a good mother, teaching my children to love one another, to not judge others, and to be a good example as Jesus was to us. I do my best to invite the spirit into our home through prayer. Though I am not perfect I try to do better each day, to be more like my Savior.
