Hi I'm Rodney

I was born and raised in San Diego. I am machinist. I love Jesus and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a machinist. I enjoy taking a piece of raw material and shaping it into a work of art, that is useful to someone. I also teach others how to do this at college. One time I put a hole into one of my hair that I cut off from my head. The hair was about .003" thick and the hole was about .001." For fun I love to sing, dance, eat and cook food. I also like to learn languages. I currently speak English, Portuguese, Spanish and I am learning Chinese. A interest I have is in the Chevrolet Camaro. This is one of the coolest cars ever built and it's what a car should look like.

Why I am a Mormon

There is nothing more precious to me in the universe then my relationship with Deity. I was able to reconnect with Him because of this Church and this how I know He lives. I chose to humble myself sufficiently to become teachable and malleable. In this meek state the Holy Spirit was about to touch my heart and fill my mind with understandings. I experimented upon the Word of God as taught in the scriptures of this church. I gave place in the soft soil of humility for a seed of faith to be planted in my soul. As I studied the Word with a open heart and mind and with all diligence. The seed of faith began to grow. I felt the joy and peace that came as a result of this growth of the Word of God in my soul. I never wanted to let go of this marvelous light that shined within me. It was so pure and most joyous to my soul. I therefore continue to seek more and more of the truths that are taught in this church. I prayed to God and He communicated to me, through that same Holy Spirit that taught me as I studied the scriptures. The light grew brighter and brighter in my soul, by which power the seed grew more and more. I have not found anywhere else this light and joy that has come from this church. I have found in the contrary sorrow and darkness, confusion and pain, hatred and destruction. I decided to be baptized and confirmed a member of this church. This is what helped start my seed to spring forth roots and made my foundation strong in the Word of God. I know now by that same Holy Spirit that Deity, God, our Heavenly Father lives! I know also that He sent His Son Jesus Christ to save us through His infinite Atonement in the which He paid the price to make up for are imperfection and death. That through this Atonement we can become perfected and resurrected. That thereby enabling us to return back to live with God forever and be like Him. I know that this is the only church that has the authority to act in the name of God and perform the ordinances required for Salvation

How I live my faith

At church enjoy helping other feel welcome. I serve my church with anything that is needed. Such as taking out the trash, vacuuming, sweeping, setting up and taking down tables and chairs, giving rides to church or other activities, etc. I am grateful that I can be a blessing in other peoples lives. I have served and continue to my community and nation as an Eagle Scout. In the church I also serve as a Clerk and take care of the records and financial responsibilities. I love to teach the gospel to the members and people who are not yet members of the church. I have families assigned to me in the church, that I am responsible for teaching and serving them.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

I know Heavenly Father is there and that is the most important thing I have ever learned. We can learn of Him as we speak to Him in prayer. We can know of His attributes through the example of His Son Jesus Christ as revealed in the scriptures. As we follow Jesus example of love, kindness and goodness. We will come unto the Father by being like Him. Show more Show less

What is faith?

Faith is like putting a coin in the candy machine. At first, you see the candy and have a desire to have some of it. Next, you exercise faith by putting your coin in the machine believing the you will receive the candy. You then, turn the handle by your energy and faith. After which, you open the door and behold the candy falls into your hands. You would of not have had the candy if you didn't put your coin in and obey the laws of the machine. Show more Show less
