Hi I'm Doug

I'm a Mormon. I grew up and have lived most of my life in Arizona. I have been a member of the LDS church all my life.

About Me

I am married with five children. I have been married to my wife for 25 years and we just went on a cruise to Alaska to celebrate this event. I am an active person that loves to play basketball, tennis, fish and hike. I have coach several different youth sports teams. I have ran a marathon and hiked the grand canyon. I am an avid fan of professional and college sports in Arizona. I work as an Assistant Accounting Manager for a large County in Arizona.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an active Mormon family and have been a member of the church all my life. The church has provided direction for my family and I. I love Jesus Christ and his teachings and try to live my life as He would. I am not perfect and continue to repent and try to do better and live the standards of the church. The church helps my family and I focus on what is important in life and how to be happy and treat others with kindness and respect. The members of the church are not perfect but most are good people trying to live honest and productive lives. I was converted to the gospel through life long study of the gospel and living its teachings. This faith grew when I served a church mission to Venezuela. On my mission, I was able to testify of the truthfulness of the church and see how it changed lives for the better. The church teachings have help me raise a family in a positive environment and give my children good counsel and direction as well as having other church members that teach my children and provide positive roll models.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in everything that I do at work, home and while I am participating in church activities. That includes trying to be honest in all my dealings with my fellowman. I try to treat others with fairness and respect. I try to work hard for an honest wage at my job. I have had callings (volunteer jobs) in the church working with both youth and adults. I have also taught religious classes for both adults, youth and small children. I have had several different leadership positions with the Boy Scouts of America and gone on many hikes, camp outs and other activities. I try to serve in the church as well as other civic activities to assist my community. I vote and take government participation seriously.
