Hi I'm Pat

I'm a mother, grandmother, and business owner. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I love being a mom and grandma. My life has been centered around raising my children and being involved in their activities. I home schooled my children so every day was a new learning experience for all of us. As a family we learned together by studying the outdoors, by working as a family on our tree farm, lawn care business, rental business and from other businesses we have tried over the years, by traveling, by being involved in scouting, music, and 4-H. We are a very active family, we love skiing both snow and water, biking, hiking, swimming, exploring, climbing, traveling, snorkeling, hunting, fishing, cliff diving, boating, riding motorcycles...well like I said, we are an active family! Life for me has never been dull. I love doing things with my kids, I love being outside, I love working (yes it's true...I do love to work!) I love growing a garden and being self sufficient, I love living out in the country and enjoying the beauties around me. From my living room window I have the most amazing view of the rolling green hills of the Palouse. I thank my Heavenly Father everyday for blessing me with an amazing family and an amazing place to live.

Why I am a Mormon

I have grown up a member of the Mormon religion but there was a time when I questioned if it was truly the right thing for me. I explored other churches and religions but I just kept coming back to the Mormon church. I had so many questions and wondered why other religions professed to believe in the bible but then their religions resembled nothing close to what the Savior set up when he was on the earth. I would ask questions as I attended the different churches. I wondered why they said they believed in the bible but did not follow it. It was so confusing for me. I made a lot of good friends from these searches but I found no one that could answer all of my questions. I still love and appreciate the good people of different religions but I am so very grateful for the Mormon church and the things it teaches and what we believe. From my search, it was the closest thing I could find to following the Savior and His church at the time he was here on the earth I have found. I also love the fact that we are not a forgotten people and have a modern prophet, just as people in the bible times, that give us direction specifically for our times and directly from God. No different than in the days of the old and new testament. I mentioned that the most important thing in my life is my family and I love how the Mormon religion is centered around the family and giving me the tools to keep my family strong in such a confusing world we now live in. These are just a few reasons I am a Mormon...

How I live my faith

It is very important to me that as I meet people they will know that I am different and that I believe in something that is truly good. I have volunteered a lot in my community and have been able to share my values of family and helping others. It is important to me that others know from being around me, who I am and who I represent. I want them to know that I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and that my Savior, Jesus Christ, is who I believe in and want to follow. I hope through serving those in my community I am able to show people that I am a Christian. In my church I love teaching the other ladies on Sunday and I learn so much as I am able to teach them from lessons that are divinely inspired. I also love being able to help other ladies in my church who I am specifically given the assignment to check on and make sure their needs are being met. What a great program. Yes, it sometimes sounds like an assigned friend, but I promise, you come to depend and love knowing that you always have someone you can call on for help. I take my job as a mother very seriously and believe that if I have raised my children to be honest, hard working, service oriented people who know they are a child of a loving Heavenly Father and know that Jesus Christ loved them so much he gave His life for each of us. I cannot think of a better way to show my appreciation for all they (Heavenly Father & Jesus) have done for me than to devout my life to teaching my children about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and their teachings so that they in turn can teach their children. I hope that in a way I am doing my part to make the world a better place by teaching my children these important truths.
