Hi I'm Amy

I'm a Mormon. I have been married to my husband for 21 years. I am a stay at home mother of 3. I love sports of all kinds.

About Me

My husband and I moved from Utah to Arizona 16 years ago. I have never looked back. I love the warm weather that we enjoy here, and I never miss the cold! I have the amazing opportunity to be a stay at home mom. I get to be active in my kids schools and activites. I love sports and high adventure. I play basketball with a great group of women twice a week. I enjoy water skiing, snow skiing, and riding our atv's. One of my most favorite things in our family vacation to California each summer. I love boogie boarding and playing in the ocean. I also enjoy the peace and quiet of the beach when my kids are all in the water. We spend time at the theme parks, and I love the roller coasters. The faster the better. The one ride I don't do is the Ferris Wheel. I am terrified of heights! I have been married to my best friend for 21 years. He makes me laugh every day, and we truly have a blast together.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. I feel so blessed to have been born into the Gospel. I have never had to know life without it. When I was in High School I realized that I had to know for myself if this Gospel was true. I prayed often and know without a doubt that it is true. This testimony of Jesus Christ and his gospel that I developed as a young teenager keeps me grounded. When life gives me a challenge that I don't understand or think "why me?" I fall back on the love of my Savior, and He helps me through it. I am grateful to know that I am a daughter of God. I know where I came from and where I want to go. He knows who I am and He loves me. I am grateful that I was married in God's temple for time and all eternity. I am so grateful to know that if I make right choices, I will be with my family forever! I am thankful for Joseph Smith. For the sacrafices he made to restore this Gospel to the earth. I am also thankful to know that we have a prophet on the earth today. Thomas S. Monson. I know he leads and guides God's church. I know that if I follow his counsel, I will be blessed and be able to return to live with my Father in Heaven again someday. I know that I will someday be reunited with my family members who have passed on. The peace and comfort this brings me is immeasureable. I know without a shadow of a doubt that the Book of Mormon is a true witness of Jesus Christ. I know that if you read that book, and pray to know if it's true, that you can know that too.

How I live my faith

I have the amazing opportunity to work with the youth of our church. Imparticularly the young women. What a rewarding experience. It's so fun to watch and help them learn and grow, not only in the gospel of Jesus Christ, but just in life. I also participate in a program called visiting teaching. I have a companion and together we visit 3 other sisters in our ward. Once a month we spend about 30 minutes catching up and discussing gospel principles. I also have visiting teachers who come and visit me. I believe my faith is in every aspect of my life. Whether I am taking a meal to a family who's mother is sick, or helping to tie baby quilts for children in a foreign country. I don't drink alcohol, tea or coffee and sometimes am asked why in a social setting. This gives me the opportunity to explain my faith. In working with the youth, we are often times invovled in service projects. Sometimes it's a service scavenger hunt, or visiting an assisted living center. I always gain so much from these experiences. And as the mother of three teenagers I am grateful that my own kids are having these opportunities as well. Life is so busy that it's very easy to get focused on me me me. Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints helps me to keep my kids as well as myself focused on helping others as well.
