Hi I'm Donna

Adoptive mother, I save money on groceries, I'm a 5th generation Arizonan and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Arizona in a family of 10 children and my husband was one of 13 children. So it was devastating for both my husband and I when pregnancy didn't come to our marriage. We went through many tests, procedures and specialists. My husband and I grew closer together and closer to the Savior as we faced the discouragement and the heartache of infertility. I don't know how I could have gotten through that time in my life without knowing that the Savior loves me. He knows who I am and He knows my struggles and sorrows. After several years of marriage we made the best decision ever when we decided to adopt. Eventually we adopted 4 children who have brought great joy to our family - beyond what we had imagined. We have now been married 30 years and are looking forward to having grandchildren in the near future. One of my interests is in saving money on groceries without having to use coupons. I started a web site to help others save money the same way as I do because women tend to feel guilty if they don't use coupons. I also enjoy vegetable gardening, bottling the foods we harvest, dancing, making things with my hands, watching old movies, going on walks with my husband and hanging out with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus is the Christ. Being a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is very important to me. Everything I do revolves around what I have learned from being a Mormon. Believing in Christ and his Atonement is what gets me through the trials in life. I turn to my Savior in prayer when things are hard. Through prayer I am able to see the blessings and the growth that come from the struggles in life. I know that prayers are answered by a loving Heavenly Father and I feel the comfort and peace the Spirit brings me. My family is very important to me and my greatest joy comes from being a wife and a mother of four. I believe that we love those we serve, and that's why a mother's love is so strong. The activities and classes my church plans and provides for my children are a huge help to me in raising my children. Being a Mormon gives my children opportunities to learn how to serve others and how to work together.

How I live my faith

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I have been asked to oversee the work of a women's organization which includes about 1,000 women. We do many things In this organization to help and serve others. We hold classes to use our talents to teach each other things like cooking, gardening, budgeting, strengthening relationships, organizing, sewing, hair cutting, how to raise children, and more. As a member of this organization for women, we have opportunities to serve others and help them through the trials and struggles of life. I know that giving service brings joy to both the giver and receiver. There are many times that I've seen women come together to help another during an emergency or through sorrow. Our organization for women increases our faith and brings us closer to the Savior. It strengthens us as women and it strengthens our families.
