Hi I'm Kelly

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father of five children and five grandchildren. Family is very important to me. I own a construction company and I love working outdoors. I have been married to the same wonderful women for thirty-two years. We live on an acre and my wife and I enjoy working in the yard and growing gardens. My family and I enjoy going on trips together and spending time with each other. We have lived in the same home for over twenty-two years. We love our neighbors.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a very active Mormon family that has roots to the beginning of the church. The reason I am active in the church today is because of the feelings and faith that I get from serving in the church. There has to be more to this life than working and playing. The gospel gives me and my family something firm to hang onto, and to know that there is a life after this. When we pray, read the scriptures and go to church on Sunday, a feeling comes to me strongly that tells me that what I am doing is right.I can look back on my life many times and, without a shadow of a doubt, I can see when God played a main role in the things that happened to me. There is a special joy that I feel when I see my family all trying hard to live their lives to please their Heavenly Father. While serving a mission for two years in the Phillippines, and many times since, I have seen the literal change that comes over a person when he repents of his sins and accepts the gospel of Jesus Christ. Each time I see this, it just strengthens my testimony that this gospel is true and Jesus Christ is at the head of this church.

How I live my faith

I have had many callings in the church. I enjoy all the callings because it gives you a chance to serve. It might be as a scout leader of some kind, or a sunday school teacher. All members of the church are assigned home teachers and visiting teachers. These men and women are assigned to the family to meet with them often to help and strenghten them. It is a great honor to serve as the home teacher and participate in the growth of these families. Many rewarding experiences come from being a home teacher. I know that I am far from perfect, but that is the beauty of this church, in that everyone is trying to do the best that they can even though many mistakes are made along the way. I know if we do the simple things like prayer daily, scripture reading, family home evening and attending church faithfully, avoiding temptations, then improving our lives gets easier every day.
