Hi I'm Alicia

I will always be a student; I am in love with the world. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate student, studying Art History and Criticism. I lived in California for most of my growing-up years, but I'm happy to be exploring the rest of the country on my own now. I have one older sister and a younger brother and lots of cousins who are wonderful and fun. My family is spread far and wide throughout America, and I love traveling to visit them. I like finding treasures in thrift stores and I collect postcards from all around the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the church my whole life. In my studies, I am seeking to learn about the history of art in Native American cultures. I have found that a connection to these people through the Book of Mormon has greatly underwritten my studies and enhanced my experience. I have found that through working to develop the attributes of Christ in my life, I am more able to build relationships with others who are also trying to come to know Him. I find a great peace in working to serve God's children as I work toward making the gospel active in my life, and I believe that my efforts will be blessed from a God who knows me and loves me.

How I live my faith

I have spent a lot of time teaching in the church. I don't proclaim to know anything more than others, but I focus on learning in my capacity as a teacher. It is wonderful to see those I am teaching understand the gospel in a new light as they see how it can apply to daily life. I find particular strength in my relationship with my Heavenly parents, as I come to know their character and that of Jesus Christ, my savior. I work on this relationship day-to-day, as I seek to serve and love people around me. I have particularly enjoyed my time teaching the women of the church, and know of their power to effect change for good in the world.
