Hi I'm Emily Bergen

I like glitter, I watch football, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Emily. I've lived in Nebraska my whole life and am a University of Nebraska - Lincoln alum and love my Nebraska Cornhuskers. I like to have fun and love to laugh!

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up, I went to church with my parents but I truly gained my testimony only within the past few years. I went through some rough times and found that fun and happiness are not the same thing. I slowly came back to Christ and found peace and started back on the road to eternal happiness. Sometimes, it is only Jesus Christ who does know how you are feeling and what you are suffering. You can have peace and gain understanding through the power of prayer. I have seen miracles in my life and know without a doubt that I am loved by my Heavenly Father and that he wants my to be happy in this life. I am thankful for our Savior's love and know that He will be there for you if you ask. I firmly believe that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true and that we have a modern-day prophet here on the Earth today. Our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ want us to be happy and they want us to return to them one day. Through the church, I am able find peace and purpose and happiness.

How I live my faith

I just try to be a good person and do what I know to be right. I tried living without the gospel in my life and eventually learned "The trouble with trouble is, it starts out as fun". Despite going to church my entire life, I turned away for a time. Eventually, I realized that true happiness, not fun was missing from my life. Today, I read from the scriptures everyday because I find them to be relevant to my life. Learning from other's trials during hard times can bring me hope. I pray. Sometimes praying to my Heavenly Father is the only person I can turn to. Sometimes I just need someone to lift me up when it is too hard to go on by myself. I go to church on Sunday. Why? I want to be there! I want to be able to partake of the Sacrament so I can renew my covenants and have the Spirit with me at all times. I also go so I can learn. I can learn from other people and their experiences and knowledge. I can further my knowledge of the gospel. With my knowledge and experiences maybe I too can also help someone. I try to be an example to those I am around me.
