Hi I'm Ron Lawson

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a retired Air Force satellite engineer of 20 years, followed by over 20 years as the manager of a group of contractor satellite engineers. Although California born and raised, my military career brought me to the Denver Co area twice and the second time we came here, we decided this is where we wanted to settle down. My wife and I are proud parents of 7 grown children and presently 4 grandsons.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young man, I found some of the teachings of the Methodist religion confusing when I read the Bible. Some examples are the relationship of God and Jesus Christ, the references in Revelations and other scriptures to a pre-mortal life, how Paul emphasized Christ's High Priest authority to the Hebrews , how the church was organized in the Lord's time, and that Christ personally went to share his gospel with "other sheep". At 18, a good friend introduced me to the missionaries who answered these and many more questions and the Holy Ghost testified that what they shared was true. Over the years, I've seen the power of the holy priesthood, exercised by common men, heal and comfort others. I've witnessed the generosity of the church to help members struggling financially or emotionally and to provide aid to counties affected by natural disasters. Finally, many years ago, I received witness from the Holy Ghost that the prophet of the church was the Lord's spokesperson on the earth.

How I live my faith

I h ave served in numerous church callings, from primary nursery to bishop of a ward. I have worked with church youth of all ages, from a Webelo leader to president of the Young Men. I have taught Sunday school lessons to several age groups from youth to adults. Currently I serve in the Denver temple, where I weekly am reminded of the eternal blessings the gospel has to offer to t hose who follow the Lord's teachings.
