Hi I'm Julie

I grew up in Arizona. I joined the church when I was 18. I became a teacher after graduating ASU. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I met my wonderful husband at work while I was attending college. I recieved my degree in Special Education and taught for seven years before becoming a stay at home mom. I especially love my career now. I loved working in the schools but being at home is the place I love most. My husband and I love movies, going to dinner, traveling, and sporting events. Our favorite thing to do is spend time with the whole family. We often have family over to play games and eat dinner. I spend extra time doing the basic mom chores, reading, volunteering at the school and at church, and taking pictures of the kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon when I was eighteen years old. My parents had been divorced and I was looking for a place to fit in. Like most teenagers I was searching for myself and where I wanted to be. I looked at a few various religions. I had been raised in Judism but I just did not feel like I fit there and I wanted something more. I had a few friends that were Mormon and they made me feel welcome. When I attended their church I felt right at home and I conected with the religion as it was centered around the family. The families I saw were very strong together. They did many things that my family had not. I loved my childhood and my family very much yet I felt a strong yearning to learn more. I have continued in the Mormon faith for over twenty years now. The things I have learned over the years have brought me so much happiness. I am very close to my family. I have taught my children of prayer and scriptures. My extended family has come to accept my choice. I love the teachings of the church, listening to the profits speak on eternal famlies and our purpose in being here. I have a better understanding of why I am here, what I am to do, and where I can end up based on my own decisions in life. The Mormon church has given me peace in my life and I feel complete.

How I live my faith

I live the Mormon faith by attending church weekly, volunteering to help those in need, and teaching a youth group of girls ages 8 and 9. We do service projects, fun activites and help teach them to make good decisions as they grow older. Living the Mormon Faith is not much different than anyone else. We take care of our families, work, help others, and strive to do the best we can. As Mormon's we try to center our lives around Christ. What would he do? We follow his teachings and look after one another.
