Hi I'm Ashley

I'm a normal girl with eternal goals. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a big family and loved every minute of it. My siblings have always been there for me. One even introduced me to my husband. My husband and I were sealed in the temple for time and all eternity. We have two beautiful girls and a wonderful baby boy. I love watching my kids try new things and help them learn and grow. I also enjoy trying new things, from sewing a button hole to chicken broccoli pizza. I like surprising people with all the different things I can do. From hair to photography to singing to jogging to being a mom... love it all!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a strong LDS home. Whenever I was faced with a problem growing up, my dad would always point me to the scriptures or would ask me if I'd prayed about it. He always encouraged me to find things out for myself. He has such strong faith that I believed that if I did what he said I would figure out whatever I needed to. It took me a while to figure out how to get the answers I was looking for. I would pray and read my scriptures. I got frustrated when I didn't figure things out quickly. Patience was not a virture that I had, but I pressed forward with faith. As I have done so, I finally figured out how the Spirit speaks to me and have been blessed by following his counsel. I had a friend investigating the church a little. I asked my dad how I could help her find her testimony. He once again started by asking me if she had read the scriptures, specifically the Book of Mormon. He told me that is where it starts. As I thought about what he said I knew that is where to start. I was challenged once to read the Book of Mormon in a few months. I did just that. It was one of the best expriences of my life. The Spirit was so strong, bearing testimony to me of the truthfulness of the words. I know that the church is true. I have read the scriptures and have prayed about it. I know through my own expierence, through the Spirit, that our Heavenly Father is always there for us and he loves us. That is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I do my best and leave the rest to the Lord. Once I gained a testimony, I knew that I needed to do my very best to live the gospel and I would be blessed. I have been richly blessed, not always the way I wanted or expected but still blessed. I live fairly close to my church building and go to church regularly. I have served with children, youth, and the women of the church. Each one has stretched me one way or another. I recently helped collect and/or put together 25 quilts to donate to those in need. I help put events together to help women learn new things right now. I still strive everyday to be more like my Savior.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, not all Mormons serve a mission, but there is no doubt in my mind the blessings that come from them. My six brothers and two sisters have all served missions. I did not. I always felt a little bad, but my parents assured me that bringing up a family was a mission on its own. Since then I have been living abroad with my husband and kids. I have been able to have the missionaries serving in our area in our home and they bring such an amazing spirit with them. They have also included me on some of their appointments with investigators. I now feel like a missionary. We can all share the gospel in some way and that makes us all missionaries. Show more Show less
