Hi I'm Tanaya

I teach yoga, love to run, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My husband and I moved to Colorado a few years ago, and my husband is currently working toward a PhD in Econ from University of Colorado. In 2012, we welcomed our little boy to our family who brings us joy (and some extra work) daily. I have worked in corporate and medical based fitness centers and currently do health education and teach yoga to senior populations. I enjoy running, hiking, reading, yoga, baking, and traveling.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I grew up in this church, I have developed a testimony of my own. The Book of Mormon is powerful source of strength, knowledge, and guidance in my life. I have read it several times and know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet who saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. He translated the Book of Mormon as another Testament of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ lived and suffered for all of us so that we can be together as families after this life and live with Him again. We cannot do it without Him.

How I live my faith

My church is a source of joy in my life. I live a Mormon lifestyle in an out of church. I want to live this life because I know it is true and provides me with happiness. I don't look at my standards as "rules" that limit me, but as guidelines that help me live a longer, healthier, richer life that is free of addictions. At church, I teach the six year old class every week. Though the class is young and often wild, they are learning very important principles about the gospel such as the fact that they are children of a Heavenly Father who loves them and wants them to live righteously so they can live together with Him again. I love being a Mormon. I am happy.
